After Version: 2.138.1203.0 64-bit (November 2024) update, I am no longer able to sign-in.

When I click the sign-in button, it prompts for email.  When I hit 'continue' the window just disappears.  This is for an Organizational Account.  It should prompt and redirect for username/password.  I have rebooted multiple times.  I have uninstalled and re-installed.  I have disabled all preview features.  I have set authentication to use default browser and I have changed my default browser.  All browsers history/cache have been cleared.

I am using 2.130.930.0 64-bit (June 2024) version and not able to signin.
Is there any solution to this issue?

Hi @mikezero ,

You may go to "Select Options and settings."in Power BI Desktop. In the Options window, navigate to the Data Load section.Under Data Cache Management Options, click on Clear cache.

Or Did you navigate to the cache folder and delete the files before reinstall it? The cache files are typically located in the following directory:

  • C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\Cache

You can also clear temporary files that might be related to Power BI Desktop. Navigate to the following directory and delete the files:

  • C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Temp

After clearing these files, restart Power BI Desktop and see if the issue is resolved.

That did not work.  At this point I have reset my device and installed the August 2024 version and it still is not working.  Just to test the connection, I tried to connect to OneLake data hub and it tells me "Sorry, we are unable to sign you in.  Please check your sign in credentials and try again."  I installed Fiddler to try to figure out where the disconnect was.  I see it successfully connecting to all the "stuff".

Hi @mikezero ,

Based on the above information, this issue is complex which may need to collect log files for further troubleshooting. Since community support engineers don't have that access, I would suggest opening a Support Ticket. If you are a Power BI Pro or Fabric licensee, you can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.
It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

In-case anyone else comes across this, my Power BI desktop application closed in the middle of me doing something and updated itself.  This resolved the issue.  I do not know why.  I am assuming Microsoft knew of the problem and deployed a fix.  So my fix for this was to uninstall the current version of Power BI desktop, install an older version, and wait for it to forcibly update.
