"queryinsights" views showing up in sematic models - very difficult to remove

Hi, I'm seeing views from the queryinsights database / schema / whatever it is showing up in the semantic model - things like long_running_queries. Are others seeing this? Image below.

Feels like a bug, and these tables are difficult to remove. Ever after chooseing "delete from default dataset" they sometimes seem to persist. I "could" hide them - but that's a poor workaround.

Just curious if others are seeing this.

Thanks,

Scott

Yes those new views appear in the Warehouse service in the model tab and then in a report using the default dataset.  I'll be honest and say that I never use the default dataset (semantic model) and always create another dataset specific to the tables/views I want.

And yes, I have hidden them in the default dataset.  Is there any reason why you think this is a poor workaround?  I agree that we should have a choice about if they appear in the semantic model.

hi @AndyDDC , IMO it's a poor workaround just because we have some models with quite a few tables, and it just makes it more difficult when there's additional stuff in the model that isn't even related. I feel like the queryinsights stuff is something new, hopefully Microsoft makes a simple change to not include these in the default semantic model.

p.s. I agree I typically create my own model also.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi @Scott_Powell

Thanks for using Fabric community.

We are reaching out to the internal team to get more information related to your query and will get back to you as soon as we have an update.

Thanks @v-cboorla-msft I appreciate that!

Scott

Hi @Scott_Powell

Apologies for the issue you have been facing.

This is a known issue.

Making model changes in a Fabric Data Warehouse's semantic model might not work. The types of model changes include, but aren't limited to, making changes to relationships, measures, and more.

The internal team is working to fix this.

Appreciate your patience.

Please refer to this link for more information: Link1

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further issues.

Thanks

@v-cboorla-msft thanks for the info. I had already tried looking this up on known issues, but apparently the site I was looking at ( https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/troubleshoot/known-issues/power-bi-known-issues ) only shows Power BI known issues. I'll try the workaround and see if it helps.

Appreciate the help!

Scott
