Hi,
I cannot access the Data engineering section in Fabric. It seems that it is not the only section missing compared to a fully enabled account.
I have a trial license, which I currently use to follow several Azure courses such as "Azure Data Fundamentals Course".
Yesterday, the Data Factory section got available out of the blue.
I appreciate any help I can get, thank you.

Yes, Italy North is not listed in Fabric region availability - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn. Microsoft Fabric is not available in this Azure region.
If you want to use Fabric features within the current tenant, while the home region (Italy North) is not supported, you need to create a Fabric capacity in a region where Fabric is available, and then use Fabric's muti-geo capabilities. For more information, see Multi-Geo support for Fabric. However Multi-Geo is not available for Trial capacity, you need a Power BI Premium/Power BI Embedded/Fabric Capacity.
For the question "And what about the organisation I am using, can I change its location or do I need to create another one?" If you want to change the home region of your tenant to another region, you need to open a support request. This requires that you have at least a Pro license. After opening a support request, Microsoft engineer will help you with the process. You can try it: How to create a Fabric and Power BI Support ticket - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
If you cannot open a support ticket, as you are taking some training courses, the easiest and fastest solution is to create a new organization(tenant). When creating a new tenant, make sure that you set the home region in a region which supports all Fabric features. Power BI implementation planning: Tenant setup - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi Jing
No problem.
My Fabric instance is hosted in Italy North (Milan). It is not listed in the region list ...
Seems like it is related to that then. Does that mean that I would need to create a new user in, say, East US? And what about the organisation I am using, can I change its location or do I need to create another one?
Thank you,
Pierre

Hi Jing,
Thank you for getting back to me with some directions.
Based on what you asked me to check:
1. This is what I see from my Homepage:
I can switch between these experiences only. As you can see, Data engineering is missing. And I also just noticed that the Real-Time Intelligence section is very limited, as I can only see the Sample card ...
2. License type and trial status: This seems all good
Sorry for the late reply. Where is your data region of the trial tenant? You can find it from ? icon in top right corner.
Then check the Supported regions section in the following documentation. It appears some fabric experiences are not available in some regions.

It's a bit strange. You can check these aspects first:
1. Visit the home page of Fabric (Microsoft Fabric) with your account, can you see the following sections on the home page? Can you click any of them to access a specific Fabric experience?
Can you switch the experiences via the icons in the bottom left corner?
2. Check your license type and Fabric Trial status. Is the Trial status still active?
3. Find the license type of your workspace where you create and use the Fabric items. Ensure it has Trial type and is in a Fabric Trial Capacity.
4. Ask the Capacity admin or Fabric admin to help check if they have made any modifications to Fabric permissions in Admin portal.
