Inquiry about difference Fabric Capacity Metric Storage Tab's Billable

Hi~ there

My Fabric's Capacity Metric is below;

There is a difference between the current storage capacity and the Billable storage capacity.
Why is there a difference? Is 25GB basically free of charge?

Hi @leesukjun ,

Thanks for connecting with us on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

  • Many cloud storage services provide the first 25GB of storage at no cost, often referred to as a "free tier," allowing users to store data without charges until they exceed that limit.
  • It's important to monitor your usage because exceeding the free tier can lead to additional charges based on the service provider's pricing structure.
  • Some of the data stored on your account may be marked as "purgeable," meaning it can be automatically removed by the system when space is needed and does not count towards your billable storage.
  • Certain temporary files, caches, and local snapshots may take up space but are not included in the billable storage calculation.

Billable Storage calculated as : Billable Storage=Current Storage−Free Storage Allowance.
