Can we get free trial account for practice purpose?

Hi Team, Can we get a free trial account to get through each service provided by the fabric and for some practice or for doing some dummy project with the use of every service available there? @Fabric

Hello @ramankr48 , it looks like in yiur company tenant all the trial capacities has been consumed, thats why you are not able to create any Fabric artifcats even after account creation.

You can follow these steps to create a trial account using your own Azure account.

To create a Microsoft Fabric trial account by creating a Microsoft user in the Azure portal, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Azure portal (portal.azure.com) using your existing credentials.
  2. Search for and select "Microsoft Entra ID" (formerly Azure Active Directory) in the Azure portal
  3. In the Microsoft Entra ID blade, navigate to "Users" and click on "New user" to create a new account.
  4. Fill in the required information for the new user, including username, name, and initial password. Make sure to note down the temporary password.
  5. Assign appropriate roles and permissions to the new user as needed.
  6. Once the user is created, sign out of the Azure portal and sign in again using the new user credentials. You'll be prompted to change the password on first login.
  7. After signing in with the new user account, navigate to the Microsoft Fabric homepage (app.fabric.microsoft.com).
  8. In the Fabric homepage, select the Account manager icon.
  9. Look for the "Start trial" button in the Account manager. If you see it, click on it to begin your Fabric trial.

Hi @ramankr48

Yes, you can get a free trial account for Microsoft Fabric to explore its services and practice using its features. Microsoft offers a 60-day free trial that provides full access to the platform's capabilities, including:

  • Access to all Fabric workloads and features, with some limitations on advanced functionalities during the trial.
  • 64 Capacity Units (CU) for compute resources.
  • Up to 1 TB of OneLake storage for data management.
  • The ability to create and share Fabric items like semantic models, warehouses, and notebooks.
  • Collaboration features for working with others on analytics solutions

How to Get Started with the Free Trial

  1. Prerequisites:
    • A Power BI license is required. If you don’t have one, you can obtain a free Power BI license through the Microsoft Fabric website.
    • A work or organizational email address is typically necessary. Personal email addresses (e.g., Gmail) may not work directly, but alternative methods like creating an Azure account can help you set up a compatible organizational domain.
  2. Steps to Activate the Trial:
    • Visit the Microsoft Fabric homepage.
    • Log in with your Power BI or organizational account.
    • Open the Account Manager in the top-right corner and select Start Trial.
    • Follow the prompts to agree to terms and activate your trial capacity. Once activated, you’ll receive confirmation, and the trial will be ready to use.
