REST API Datasets - Bind To Gateway In Group DOES NOT WORK

Hello,

I have my dataset ID, my gateway ID, and the datasource ID, and I am trying the:  Datasets - Bind To Gateway In Group, as a response I am just getting a response with code 200 (ok). However if I examine my dataset the gateway does not change to the one in the API request I sent. Why it does not work? working with this REST API is a pain... and how can I report this malfunctioning, if the dataset's gateway is not changing then the response should probably be different than a code 200 right?

Hi, @Korlay37

Based on my test results, the current API does not present any issues in my testing environment. Here are my findings:

This is the data from the semantic model that was just uploaded without configuring a standard gateway for it:

After executing the following API, the semantic model changed:

From my understanding of your previous posts, we believe that although the API call was successful, the gateway did not change. This might be related to how you created the gateway. You can try manually creating the gateway and establishing a data connection to see if this resolves the issue.

If it turns out to be an API product issue, I recommend opening a ticket with the Power BI technical support team. The engineers can remotely assist you in verifying whether the issue exists and, if confirmed, collect the necessary information to escalate the problem to the product team:

It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello @v-linyulu-msft,

Well for me it does not work... I am trying the process of doing everything throught the REST API, so first I do a Post Import to Group with a PBIX, that creates the dataset, and then from there I use get gateways to check my gateway information in order to use it in my bind to gateway in group. So I am happy that it works for you but it does not work for me, maybe if you try to do all the flow through the api it will change.
