Show Actual for previous month and budget for future months

Hi.

Is it possible to create a visual showing actual figures for previous months and budget for future months? As a twist, Actual figures should only be used if the month is closed. So Actual April figures should not be used until May 1. Furthermore, I would like the visual to use different colours for the months depending on the category, Actual or Budget.

I have created a simple sample, please refer to my pbix file to see if it helps you.

Create a column first.

forecast_col = var _1=MONTH(TODAY())
return
IF(('Table'[month])<=_1,('Table'[Actual]),('Table'[Budget]))

Then create a measure.

Measure = var _mon=MONTH(TODAY())
return
IF(MAX('Table'[month])<=_mon,"Blue","Green")

Thanks a lot for your reply. I have a minor problem with the month as I have more than one year in my table, so I assume I will have to consider this in my measure?
