I want to get rid of the date border. Is there a way?

Hi @wanna 

You can look into the other custom visual, if available or
If require you can Insert > Shape > Line and overlap the slicer line.
Just like the image below, I am using 5 lines and overlam
Then put all together in a Group

there's currently no option to remove them.

I don't want to put a background color.
Is there no other way?

Hello @wanna , under slicer format options turn off the background or select same background color as black to remove that border.

The background is made of gradation, so it's hard to set the background color to gray. The border still looks white.
