Unable to import data from dataflow Gen 2 into Power bi desktop.

Hello Team,

Help me, When I am trying to import data from Dataflow Gen2, In the Navigation window it shows an error

'Microsoft SQL: A network or instance-specific error occurs while establishing a connection to SQL Server ......'

I am unable to see the Table inside the Dataflow also,

Did you try writing the outputs of the Dataflow Gen2 to Lakehouse table?

(Add data destination)

Then connect Power BI to the Lakehouse table(s).

Unless you are writing the outputs of the Dataflow Gen2 into a data destination, I guess you could might as well use a normal Power BI Dataflow?

Bumping this, still having issues connecting to Gen 2 Dataflows as well from desktop

Is this still the recommended fix?

Yes. To be clear: the problem will exist as long as your network does not have a line of sight to the warehouse\lakehouse.

Hey,

This can happen if your firewall blocks access to the SQL endpoint of staging lakehouse. You should allow traffic on port 1433 to flow to it.
