Hello folks,
im currently having issues with structuring our company intern BI-Reports + Dataflows properly in order to make the reports accessible for consumers (We just started using fabric components). It's a licensing topic as well and im a bit confused about it but the situation is as the following:
- Most of dataflows ive created need the premium per user license (which i have)
- There is one report per department (atm 5 reports)
- The non technical collegues (consumers of the reports) have got the pro-license
- Per Report ive created one corresponding dataflow (gen 1)
- Report + Dataset + Dataflow in one workspace per department
In the past time all went fine, cause i could handle this with the fabric-test-version but it's about to expire in about 5 days, and im unsure if all the consumers of the reports will need the premium-per-user license as well (only to consume the reports) - what i dont think.
I tried to reorganize my Bi component structure to only leave dataset + report in the workspace per department + created one workspace for all the dataflows. This Dataflow workspace is a premium workspace, and the other department specific workspaces should be pro workspaces, but im already having issues when connecting from the reports of the pro workspaces to the dataflows of the premium workspace:
I appreciate any form of help!
Greetings 🙂

Hi, @bennet_mc
In our company, we follow these tricks to organize items,
1. Create a dedicated premium workspace for all dataflows. Now that the making folder is available, it is more organized. I love how I can create different folders and keep my items (be It dataflow or report).
2. Create separate pro workspaces for each department, containing only reports and datasets. (it depends on the use case, users, and more. Again instead you could make one workspace and use folder structure to organize department-wise. but it depends on who you want to show your content. The sales dept sometimes won't need to see the supply chain dept. report and so on).
