Trouble managing mapping: cannot edit Type

I have set up a copy activity that has REST API as source and Lakehouse table as Destination. However when doing the Mapping many fields return Type null because it is empty in the first row. Besides it not being able to infer the column type from the example data, I cannot manually set the Type either. Resulting in that I cannot copy those columns at all. In Azure Data Factory I can do this, but it seems I can't in Fabric Data Factory?

The error is:

ErrorCode=UserErrorSchemaMappingCannotInferSinkColumnType,'Type=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Common.Shared.HybridDeliveryException,Message=Data type of column 'EndDate' can't be inferred from 1st row of data, please specify its data type in mappings of copy activity or structure of DataSet.,Source=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Common,'

'please specify its data type in mappings of copy activity' is what I cannot do in this case.

Why is this marked as "solved"? A solution should enable the execution of the original intent, even if it involves a workaround. "Not supported yet" does not qualify as a solution. It is understandable that with a system of this size, not everything has been implemented yet. However, marking it as "solved" can be misleading and may result in a waste of time.

Hi Grace,

I have the same issue. Are you still working on it, or has it gone to the backlog?
