DB2 - Package Collection

We are trying to connect to a DB2 server with the new OPDG in pipelines. When connecting, we need to set the Package Collection property for it to work correctly. This property is available in DFG2/PQ and ADF pipelines, but doesn't seem to be available in Fabric pipelines.

Is there another way to set this? Will this property be availble soon?

Hi @Joshrodgers123 ,

Internal Team confirmed that workaround doesn't work
Currently, even PQ shows package collection, it is not stored.

Team is going to have a discussion internally. So far, please treat it as a feature gap.
Apologize for the inconvenience.

Yes, this is IBM DB2. In pipelines, it just says DB2, but in DFG2/Power Query it says IBM DB2. They are the same thing.

I think the documentation you listed is outdated and hasn't been updated for the release of on prem gateway on pipelines.

Hi @Joshrodgers123 ,

At this time, we are reaching out to the internal team to get some help on this .
We will update you once we hear back from them.

Hi @Joshrodgers123 ,

We have an update from internal team -

This is considered as a feature gap. Team is going to work on it, at present we don't have a concrete ETA. Also you are right, doc is not updated yet. It should appear here once it is updated - Connector overview - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

In between, this should be a workaround -

You can create the connection in Power Query, and then use it in pipeline.

Note: For on-premises connection, it is resuable. But for cloud connection, it is not.

Hope this is helpful. Please let me know incase of further queries.

Thanks for the update.

I don't think that workaround will work though. The connection settings like package collection, sql statement, and connection timeout are specific to a query, not a connection. They do not transfer from one dataflow to another, or from a dataflow to a pipeline.

Hi @Anonymous - is it possible to follow up with the internal team to see if there is an ETA on this being available? This is a blocker for us to use the DB2 connector.

Hi @Joshrodgers123 ,

Thanks for using Fabric Community.
I cannot find anything like DB2 in Dataflow Gen2, but I can find IBM DB2. Can you please confirm if you are talking about the same?

According to the documentation -

If possible can you please share the enlarger screenshot, so I can understand on which exact connector you were talking about.
