I work in insurance and we have a large need to segment data by different dimensions to see loss ratios, claim frequencies and other profitability metrics on the fly. Its easier to determine scale as we drill down by viewing a value as % of parent calculation
For example, In microsoft excel, you can select a calculation type for values to be a % of Parent Row Total, % of Parent Column Total, % of Parent Total (among others) dynamically. This way, you can change the pivot table and see the % update with the new dimensions.
In power BI, this cannot be done dynamically and the user must create a very specific measures against specific dimensions to achieve what excel already does out of the box.
We're halfway there already with Percent of Grand Total, Percent of column Total and Percent of row Total, but just need the "Parent" row, column and totals to make a better selection of value types
