Is "the event (Activator) refresh with respect to semantic model not working" a known issue?

Is "the event (Activator) refresh with respect to semantic model not working" a known issue? (I couldn't find in the list)

- In my existing workspace (Fabric Capacity), The event is not refreshing with respect to semantic model which is created on top of a power bi report with alert.

- I created a new workspace with fabric capacity, created a lakehouse, power bi report and an alert. The alert(activator) is not syncing with semantic model associated with Power BI report in this new workspace as well.

- I tried to create a event stream but it looks like it doesn't support the data-related events in the lakehouse but limited to the operations performed in external storage.

- In Sample data-source, it looks like the event-streams are being used, but the question is how to create a custom one.

Is there anyone else facing this issue?

for me, the Impact: High

If you have solution or workaround for this, it would be a great help.

HI  ,

Yes, the issue of the Data Activator not refreshing with respect to changes in the Power BI semantic model is a known problem. Users have reported similar behavior where Data Activator fails to detect changes in the semantic model unless it is explicitly refreshed, even when automatic refresh settings like "Keep your Direct Lake data up to date" are enabled.

Data Activator only detects changes in the Direct Lake semantic model after a manual refresh. Without this, events logged by Data Activator show unchanged values, even if the underlying data has been updated multiple times during the interval.

Data Activator checks the semantic model for updates at fixed hourly intervals, regardless of whether the model has been refreshed. This behavior can lead to delays in detecting and acting on changes.

Hi @rabbisht ,

Sorry I don't quite understand what problem you're having.

The event is not refreshing with respect to semantic model which is created on top of a power bi report with alert.

What do you mean by event in this sentence? Eventstream?
And what do you mean by respect to semantic model? Do you mean that you created a Reflex and set a scheduled refresh for this semantic model, but after your refresh is completed, the data in your Reflex is not refreshed?

Dino Tao
