Hi everyone, I hope you all have a nice day. I want to ask (pictures attached), I gave an example of me using visualisation of "Button Slicer (Top)" and "Slicer (Bottom)" in the picture, I have a table where I have Reporting Date column then I make custom column for the quarters and months. The "Year" in the slicer is from Reporting Date hieararchy (Year), but the quarter and month in the slicer, they both are custom column that I made from the Reporting Date column (so they are not the hieararchy of "Reporting Date"). My questions (I don't mind if you answer with "Slicer" visualisation or "Button Slicer" visualisation): In Picture 1, If I select Q1 and it turns grey, how do the visualisation slicer for months turns black (for Jan, Feb, Mar) without me selecting the Quarter slicer? In Picture 2, If I select any month (for example: Aug) and it turns black, how do the visualisation slicer for quarter turns grey (Q2) without me selecting the Quarter slicer? In Picture 3, If I select Year "2025" and it turns black, how do the visualisation slicer for quarter and months also turns black without me selecting Quarter and Month slicer? Please kindly help me answer my questions. Thank you in advance. God bless. 😊🙏1.8KViews0likes1CommentVisualizations can be edit in Desktop but can't be shown in Web Server
Hi, I have a visualization can be edit in Desktop, but when I submit it in Server, I can't see it in Web. However, other users in my group can see it in Web well. I have the same access as others, incl. Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder. Welcome to raise your ideas, thanks a lot! Web Server: In Web, no visualization picture but there seems an item when I put mouse on the empty. Desktop: I can see and edit it. It's a third-party visualization tool.Solved647Views0likes2CommentsIs it possible to use a visualization/slicer, that edits a DAX formula in the Data tab?
Hello, I want to use a slicer in the Reports tab that would allow a user to change a varible that would subsequently change a column formula created in the Data tab. For Example, the below image shows a date slider (let's call this date variable "SlicerDate"). This would be a visualization in the reports tab that any user can interact with. I want to create an IF statement in the Data tab that states, IF(X<SlicerDate, "Earlier", IF(X>SlicerDate, "Later")). Although the actual column formula in the Data tab would not change, the "SlicerDate" within the formula would change according to the date applied to the slicer. The reason for this is there are many people who will view this report themselves and would like to adust the returned variables based on a specific date, but not all people will know how to change data portion of the PBIX file or online file. I want users to be able to change the variable returned in the Data tab without leaving the Reports tab. Any assistance or suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thank you!681Views0likes2CommentsSmart tooltip for Matrix rows
Hi Dear Community, I am trying to use a column from a table (which has 1:* relationship with the table from which I constracted my matrix) as a tooltip for my matrix rows. But I want my tooltip to show the particular value from that column which corresponds to the value of the row of the matrix I hover over. I wuold appreciate your help. Thank you in advance!4.8KViews0likes1CommentVisualise distributions with pre-summarised data
G’day everyone, New user of Power BI and first-time poster. I want to know how I can create a visualisation of key distribution statistics (e.g. minimum, first quartile, medium, third quartile and maximum) using data that has already been summarised? For example, consider the data example in the first screenshot below. I can use excel to show these statistics as a box and whisker plot that dynamically responds to the filters I’ve applied (see second screenshot below). Is it possible to do something similar in Power BI? The only non-negotiable constraint is that the data is already summarised (like the example in the first screenshot). The visualisation doesn’t have to be a box and whisker plot, just something that highlights the distribution. The structure of the data set can also be different (e.g. the summary statistics can be restructured as columns rather than rows as they are in the example attached). Thanks in advance for all your help! PS: This forum would be even better if members could post files so responders had access to sample data or other reference material.622Views0likes0CommentsFull Screen embedded report on Sharepoint online
