Add Extensible Excel Style "Custom Combo Chart" to Power BI
I would like to suggest the addition of an extensible "Excel Style Combo Chart" feature to Power BI. This feature would allow users to create highly customizable combo charts, similar to those available in Excel. Key functionalities should include: Multiple Series Types: Enable users to add multiple series of any type (e.g., columns, bars, stacked, area, lines, points) within a single chart. Overlay, Order, Opacity: Allow users to overlay different visual types, control the order of series, and adjust the series' opacity to achieve the desired visual effect. Custom Formatting: Provide extensive customization options for each series, including colors, line styles, borders, transparency, markers, and more. This feature would greatly enhance the flexibility and functionality of Power BI visualizations, allowing users to create more complex and informative charts tailored to their specific needs. Indeed, I think if the "Custom Combo Chart" was done well it would eliminate the need to create so many various single purpose charts. Thank you for considering this suggestion.
Update line chart with dash-by / shape-by functionality
We've the ability to color (colorby) data series in a line chart using the Legend option in Power BI, but we still don't have the option to "dash by" to determine the shape of the line by another field. This is pretty basic functionality in most of python plotting librires for example. I am trying to port our solution from Dash plotly very hard but limitations like this make using PBI questionable to be frank. What could be an alternative to distinguish the data set based on two “legend” fileds and not on single one? Microsoft already has a Figma API for Power Apps, so the groundwork is there. Picture this: we'd seamlessly import Figma wireframes or components right into Power BI with sick UI in PNG or SVG files (if that's doable). And to take things up a notch, let's make sure it supports importing component variants like hover, selected, focused, disabled – you name it – complete with their font and colour hex codes. Introduce Standard Box Plot Visualizations
Please add common data visualizations (such as box plots) to Power BI. Third party add ins should not be the solution to creating commonly used visualizations. Example case: Our org is currently straddling Tableau and Power BI. I have been disappointed at the number of visuals that are present in Excel, but not Power BI. Box plots are a prime example. We are not interested in 3rd party solutions (certified add ins) to solve basic visualizations that already exist in both Tableau and in Excel. It just makes Power BI look sub-par when it cannot provide what Excel does.
Chiclet Slicer + further Image and Test customization
The Chiclet Slicer is the best visual for my work purpose, but I need the text color to change based on selection, and Images, Text to be left-aligned in the chiclet itself. I don't know if there is another visual to do this already, or if it's an easy fix, but I have searched with no success.Fully functional dynamic Pivot table visual
A fully functional pivot table visual where the report developer can configure the allowed fields in the pivot visual would be a great addition. Visual should allows users to rearrange rows and columns, add filters, add/remove fields from the list of fields and measures provided etc. This would allow users to view the data different ways and manipulate the views on the fly within a fairly controlled environment of the report itself.
Reset Slicer for Dates with quarters and months
Hi All, Based off my colleagues post on the forums: Reset Slicer for Dates with Quarters and Months To summarise: If you have 3 date slicers Year, Quarter and Month and you have selected January from the month slicer. Lets now say you now wish to select Quarter 2 from the Quarter Slicer, the January Month that was selected previously is still visibile Is there a way of implementing such logic that the month selected is automically deselected when you select a different quarter?
