5 TopicsTaking a visual studio statement and changing it to DAX
I have a visual studio report that requires two fairly critical query statements based on two parameter fields: 1. NEWSTARTDATE=IIf(Parameters!StartDate.Value>Fields!new_arrivaldate2Value.Value,Parameters!StartDate.Value,Fields!new_arrivaldate2Value.Value) 2. NEWENDDATE=IIf((IsNothing(Fields!new_departuredate2Value.Value) = true)Or(Fields!new_departuredate2Value.Value>Parameters!EndDate.Value),Parameters!EndDate.Value,Fields!new_departuredate2Value.Value) Essentially these make arrival date 1st of the month if good arrived earlier than this and make departure date end of month for any goods still in stock (allowing for a calculation on storage costs for the month to be performed). I really want to be able to replicate this in power BI, which I suspect is possible, but I am struggling with the use of parameters and rewriting the two statements in DAX (I have very limited knowledge of power BI). I would be hugely grateful if someone was able to point me in the right direction.624Views0likes2CommentsSSAS Edition
Hi, When I deploy a tabular model from VS, does the Edition option ask which Edition the SQL Server is already running...or is it asking me which Analysis Service Editon I would like to deploy? Not sure if the SSAS cube can be a different edition than the SQL Server Regards, AndersSolved697Views0likes1CommentDeveloping Paginated reports from Visual Studio instead of Report builder?
I have been researching about Paginated reports for Power Bi and a lot of the information says that they use the standard SSRS report format (.rdl) but that you have to use Report Builder to author the Paginated reports. I am still waiting on access to my development environment so i cant test this out, but i want to know if i can build Paginated reports in Visual Studio as i would for a SSRS report or if i need Report Builder.Solved16KViews0likes6CommentsPower Bi Report Server does not load language file from Visual Studio initially
Hi PBI experts, besides PBI Desktop, we use Microsoft Visual Studio for designing and altering Tabular Models. There you can easily export a language file, then edit it with a text editor and then import the language file. In Power BI Desktop the language of the user's system is selected automatically. Last month, we have installed the PBI report server. We still have a issue with the language file loading in a internet browser. When opening the report via an internet browser, the language file from Visual Studio is not loaded initially. Only, after refreshing the browser (F5) the language file will be selected an the report is translated (similar like in PBI Desktop). Even after logging out and again logging in, the language file will be loaded. Do you have an idea why this happens and how I can fix it? Hi, I have VS 2019 and SSDT installed local on my computer. I have an expression in the textbox, using "Floor", "Abs". When I try to preview the report on my computer, it gives "#Error" In the Visual Studio, window: error list, it shows as [rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Value expression for the textrun 'Textbox133.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[1]' contains an error: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. Note: When I publish this to PBIRS, report works fine. only shows error on my computer's visual studio / ssdt. Also, works on Report Builder when I open ... Any idea? Thanks7.3KViews0likes8Comments
