Hi, I am considering to upgrade Power BI Report Server from 202209 to 202305, so I make some tests. There are two VMs in the same machine and these two are using the same settings when building. They are unable to connect internet and only for intranet usage. The only difference is the version of PBIRS version. Based on my testing, it works fine except uploading .pbix. It takes about 49.77 seconds to upload a14.7MB file for the 202305 version. By contrast, 202209 version only takes 7.04 seconds. Is there any difference to the v2.0 catalogItems API between 202209 and 202305 version? I list the timeing that Edge developer tool shows: 202305: Request sent: 36.58s Waiting for server response: 10.35s Content download: 2.78s 202209: Request sent: 297.51ms Waiting for server response: 4.65s Content download: 2.03s300Views0likes0CommentsJan 2019 Report server unreachable
I just updated the Power BI software in client & Server: - Desktop (D) is now Version: 2.65.5313.1381 64-bit (December 2018) - Desktop for Report Server (DRS) is now Version: 2.65.5313.1421 64-bit (January 2019) - Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) software is also the JAN 2019 I am able to publish in PBIRS the newest PBIX files we have without any issues. I open the files with (DRS) and SAVE AS - POWER BI REPORT server, select the folder, SAVE and that's it. I am able to open & refresh the dashboard, navigate in the tabs, filtering, etc. No problem. When I tried the oldest models (Desktop version was October 2018), I am not able to publish any of them. They are over 100 MB, and even though I opened them with the new (D) version, refresh them, save them, opened with (DRS), when I tried to save them, the white screen disappear without any signal. Just ends and I am returned to (DRS). If I tried to save it for second time, I receive errors in the credentials (Encryption that I do not use) or it says the server is unreachable. But I just saved a new PBIX in the same server minutes ago! Any ideas what is happening? Thanks in advance...4.5KViews0likes10CommentsUpload pbix file to Report Server using C# HttpClient

Hi, I'm a bit confused, what are the differences between the two options of uploading reports on a server ? 1) Using the "upload" button directely in the webportal, and upload a .pbix file. 2) Use Power BI Desktop for RS with an user account that has credential for the server, and "save as" ? Is possible to upload the dataset as well with option 1 ? Thanks in advance for your helpSolved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsUploading or saving files with a .mp4 extension is not allowed

Hello All, Petebro, Today one of my users informed me that she can't upload .xlsb file on our Report Server. She uploads this report every week, so I can see that all previous versions have .xlsb extension. We upgraded to September 2021 last Sunday so it looks that this is the reason. Can I change it somehow? I tried to change AllowedResourceExtensionsForUpload parameter but without success. Hi experts, I am using Power BI Report Server (May 2021). I tried to upload a report .pbix file with 450MB size to the server several times but got issues. When it finished uploading, there was no Success notification as normal. The "Saving .... to Power BI Report Server" just disappeared and I go to the report server and not see my report on the server. As I said, I tried several times. Sometimes, I see my report appears on the report server, though I cannot setup a scheduled refresh job as I am not able to click on Data sources. The report just merely uses a single SQL Server 2019 database as its data source. As I checked the log files on the server, I saw this ERROR|13|library|Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: The item 'xxx' cannot be found.;| RequestID = s_51052eed-3ef7-4f33-83d5-81cadcdb2db5 Could anyone help on this? P.S. This issue does not occur when I upload a small report file, 10MB for example. Thank you KLSolved5.2KViews0likes7CommentsWhat is the Upload button for in Power BI Report Server on Premis?
I have tried the January 2021 and May 2021 release of Power BI Report Server. One of the problems we have is that we cannot Upload paginated (non Power BI - plain SSRS report). When I click the Upload button and select the file, in the January edition there was an error in the June edition nothing happens? The window that opens the file closes and no file is uploaded. What does this upload button do? How do you get non-Power BI reports into the Power BI Report Server? I can create a report with Report Builder but I cannot upload one of the many hundreds of reports I need to upload that have already been created previously in SSRS 2014.Solved1.1KViews0likes3CommentsPower BI Report Server - Upload (overwrite) existing Excel File
Hello, we are using the Power BI Report Server (May 2020). We have saved some Excel-Files on Power BI Report Server (Upload). We are able to upload the Excel-File but we are not able to overwrite the existing Excel-File. When we want to upload the same Excel-File again we are asked whether the existing file should be overwritten. If we click "overwrite" the following message occures (Internal error on Reportserver): In the Logfie I can find the following message: "System.InvalidOperationException: Das Objekt mit Nullwert muss einen Wert haben..|" (Nullable Object must have a value) Does anyone has the same error? Is this a bug in PBIRS Version May 2020? Thank you. Kind regards NiHi2.5KViews0likes7Comments
