Hi all I have recently moved my Power BI RS instance to a new server. Old server is upgraded to the same version as new one before movement and new one has the same IP/computer name of the old one. I have backed up and restored report server databases (both main and temp) and have re-created SQL Server Agent jobs for scheduled refreshes (Scripted in old server and ran script on the new one). I have checked jobs side-by-side with Schedule and ReportSchedule tables in report server DB and all of them seem OK. Now I have this problem: I cannot edit/delete existing scheduled refreshes, neither can create new one, neither can start existing ones! All of these actions fail with this error: How can this be fixed?720Views0likes2CommentsWhat is the meaning of the PBIRS.OLD folder?
Hi, when i upgrade PowerBI RS (OnPrem), the previous Version is stored in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\PBIRS.OLD. Is ist possible to switch back to this Version when i restore the sql database too? I never tried before but the upgrade document describe for example, that some files should be backup (see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/upgrade#backing-up-the-configuration-files) But why should i backup the files when it´s already store in PBIRS.OLD Folder? Thanks for helping/solution Best regards Wilfried843Views0likes1CommentUnable to upgrade January 2021 to May 2021 report server
Hello, I have a strange problem. We have three PBIRS environments: Development, Acceptance and Production. Last week I upgraded the development version from the January 2021 to the May 2021 release without problems. Today I wanted to upgrade the acceptance environment, but the Upgrade option isn't available when running the installer, only the Install option. I ran the installer for the January 2021 version, and it correctly sees that it's installed. Previous upgrades (all the way to begin 2019) have ran without problems before. Things I've tried: * Reboot the server * Run the installer with or without admin mode * Run the Jan. 2021 installer, it sees that it's installed. So I've tried a 'repair'. None of these options solved the problem. Anyone has an idea where I should start looking for a solution?
