Report Builder: User Prompt for Database Connection
We have report servers that get copied monthly for a specific snapshot of a database at a point in time. Each one has a separate user name and password. I have multiple reports needing to point to the report servers, but I need the user to be able to specify which version (so is it the October 2023 copy or the January 2023 copy, etc.). So when they pull up the report in the service, I need it to prompt them for a user name and password that they can input in order to point to a specific copy of the database. Does anyone know if this is possible? I tried parameterizing the login but the gateway didn't work with it in there and I know that has to match exactly.
running a report server using a GMSA account
hello, i have an already existing on premise report server that was running on a virtual service account, I am trying to change the service account to a GMSA account with the intention of later setting up kerberos authentication for my data sources, however when i changed the service account to my GMSA account and restarted the service it started asking for authentication from anyone who tries to enter the web portal, but when you do authenticate it just asks for it again and keeps repeating it without moving you to the web portal itself. Is this something to do with the fact that im using a gmsa account or can it be something else? and if so is there anything i need to change in the account's/server's configuration for it to work? thanks 🙂
