Power BI Report Server and SSAS on different machines
Hi! I just got this working after consulting this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/configure-kerberos-powerbi-reports?redirectedfrom=MSDN&view=sql-server-ver15 So I have a tabular cube on one machine and report server on a different machine. I have set up SPNs and granted Kerberos delegation as described in the article above. When I tried a testreport it still couldnt connect (We couldnt connect...) to the cube but once I changed the settings for the data source on the report from "As the user viewing the report" to "Using the following credentials" and checking the "Log in using these credentials, but then try to impersonate the user viewing the report" it worked. Why do I need to change this setting to make it work? Is it some permissions that is missing? For mor context, my user has all privilages to the cube and the report server. Prior to changing the setting on the data source, when I view the report as my own user I dont get any error. But when I view the report as a user that only is assigned a role in the cube I get the error. Can anybody share any light on this?

Problem SSAS live Connection-We couldn’t connect to the Analysis Services server because time out
Hi, I am trying to make a live connection to a SSAS frm Power BI Desktop, but i get this error: "We couldn’t connect to the Analysis Services server because the connection time out or the server name is incorrect". When i do an import, everything works fine, and i use the windows credentials of a user who have access to the OLAP Cubes. When i try to connect from Excel, i can access the OLAP Cubes and see the information. The conecction to the SSAS i do through a VPN from my computer to the SSAS domain. What could be the error? Thanks

Power Bi live connection using SSAS service with MySQL DB.
We have a MySQl DB with 8.0 workbench version. We are in a process to create a live connection report with our MySQL DB Data using SSAS service of power BI. We are facing issue while connecting to power BI. We have tried to reduce the workbench version and also tried enterprise version. non of the above attempt could help us. Could you please assist us any troubleshooting steps from POWER BI side. Regards, Amresh Lenka

Powerbi with 5tb database
Hi everyone. I have a customer that has a 5tb database and I need to do a PoC to demonstrate the PowerBI Report Server. I am thinking use the SSIS and SSAS to work with this data. Problem with SSAS live conection from Power BI
Hello, For several days, I am trying to solve a problem I face with power bi when I am trying to connect in direct query on our http pump sever (http://cube.xxx.com/OLAP/msmdpump.dll). If I am changing mode from to "Import" - connection successful. The live connection to our pump works without issue in Tableau and Excel, but not in Power BI. The import option works in Power BI Desktop though. Our SSAS server is "independent instance", not in any domain, but there configured connection throw HTTP data pump link (msmdpump.dll) and created few local windows account (which are added to the SSAS roles as members and used for connection to the CUBE in EXcel) Please, Any tips on how to resolve this ?
