Hi! I've installed Microsoft PowerBI Report Server 1.17.8552.27722 with 180 days test licence on a box with SQL Server 2019 EE (Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (RTM-CU18-GDR) (KB5021124) - 15.0.4280.7 (X64) Core-based Licensing (64-bit) on Windows Server 2022 Standard 10.0 <X64> (Build 20348: ) (Hypervisor) ). Now I am looking for the licence (product key), which is included with SQL Server EE. But the key, which is shown in the M365 Admin Center SQL EE core - download - special instructions (here in German) is not accepted : Any ideas? We intend to setup a powerbi reporting server to handle our powerbi needs. We will acquire this license by purchasing an SQL Enterprise Edition Server. As I understand it, users that wish to publish reports will need a powerbi pro license. All other viewing users will not require a powerbi pro license. Can you please verify if this is correct? As I'm expecting a very large number of users, I would not want to get additional costs above to switching to SQL Enterprise. ThanksSolved910Views0likes1CommentPowerBI Report Server Costs
Hi, I have seen LOTS of discussions on the topic of PowerBI Report Server Costs; What I need to zero in on is: "Power BI Report Server is available through Power BI Premium or as a Software Assurance (SA) benefit for customers with active SQL Server EE with SA licenses. Contact your Microsoft representative for more information" I take this to mean: IF you have SQL Server EE and SA you get Power BI Report Server-I just don't see what the add on costs are if any. Also, I have setup the Power BI Report Server and I can publish straight to it; I understand the free version is supposed to block this...does this mean "in use" I'm really a Pro User? One final question: Must the Power BI Report Server run on the same server as EE?4.9KViews0likes5Comments
