I was hoping to use the new “single select” slicer in report server introduced in May 2019 version. Unfortunately it is not working for me. All looks good in Desktop – radio buttons instead of check boxes However when the same report is published to report server it reverts back to multi select, with the ability to clear all filters as before ☹ DarrenSolved17KViews0likes10CommentsHelp with slicer and measures with DAX (maybe)
Hi All I hope you can help me with my problem. I'm still relatively new to Power BI even if I've been lurking here for a while so please bear with me. Context: My model have a table that contains Department and Location columns and another survey results table that is joined by location. The department column contains two departments (Farming and Processing) while my location column have (Cashew Farming, Hazelnuts Farming, Hazelnut Processing, Cashew Processing, Pistachio, Processing etc.). I am using calculated measures from survey results to give me a percentage figures that I show in a table (for example the one below). I am also using a slicer that uses the departments (Farming and Processing). Problem: What I am trying to do now is if I select any department from the slicer (Farming for example), I would like the values to show only the ones for Cashew Farming, Hazelnut Farming, Pistachio Farming and if I change the selection to Processing, it will only show values for Cashew Processing, Hazelnut Processing, Pistachio Processing. Location Great Good Bad Cashew xxx xxx xxx Hazelnut xxx xxx xxx Pistachio xxx xxx xxx I hope that makes sense? I have a feeling that this is a DAX solution but I'm not sure where to start. Appreciate your help in advance! Thank you.Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsChange visual sort from years to months when a specific year is chosen
Greetings everyone, First of all, I'm glad to be here and become a member of this community, I have always been a visitor haha. I have a visual (Area Chart) that shows the expenses for the past 3 years by years (2022,2023,2024) and I have a slicer that filter the years. But when you choose 2023, the visual shows nothing because it's Data Hierarchy by years. How can I make visual to changes automatically from years to months when a specific year is chosen ? Thank you in advance !Solved674Views0likes1CommentSlicer not filtering some visuals
In a report with multiple visuals when filtering using the slicer data disappear on some visuals. Data reappear only when I select all. The other visuals are not affected. The problem just started recently while I have not made any set-up changes. Can someone help?496Views0likes1CommentDefault values for slicer
Hi All I am pulling out what little hair I have left with this particular issue related to setting the default value of a slicer for a dashboard that has been configured for Dynamic Row Level Security. Here is my scenario. I have created a dashboard for dynamic row level security using the bridge table technique and then I have published the dashboard to our in house report server (not the service) and tested the data displayed using myself and another member of the team. There is a slicer setup as a single select to choose one of Company A,B,C, or D, It has to be a single select because the data is specific to one company not multiple. I have access to see Company A and B and my team member has access to see Company C and D. All this works perfectly and when I sign on I see A and B and my team member can see C and D. But when I published the dashboard, Company A was selected (because its the first one in the list) and this gets persisted with the published dashboard. Now when my team member signs on she sees that Company A is selected in the slicer and C and D are listed below it. No data is returned for A but its annoying because she only should see C and D. Now for rant time...... When is Microsoft going to sort out this defaulting issue for slicers. There are so many work arounds for defaulting date periods for latest month, etc and I am sure there is a workaround that some clever person is going to give me for my above problem 🙂. BUT SSRS and now even Paginated Reports have had this for ages by having a separate query that is used to supply the default value for a single select or multiple select parameter. When is this seemingly simple idea going to filter or bubble up to the top of the ideas list. I, and most probably half the Power BI family across the world have votes for this but nothing yet. Please Microsoft, you have a wonderful product and all the better now that Fabric has landed but please give us an easier out the box method to have default values for a slicer. Feel better now, comments appreciated.486Views2likes0Comments"Date between" slicer appearing as a dropdown for user
Hi All, I have a Power BI report with a date range slicer, which I have set to the 'between' option. On publishing this to web, this works for myself and another colleague in my team. However, when another user uses the report they see a drop down instead. What we see: What they see: Why is this?4.8KViews1like8CommentsSlicer Header - For Date (No visible on Power BI Report Server)

Hi All, I have a report created where I have a clustered column chart with a drill down and a few slicers. When I am drilling down or up into the chart, the slicer values are not changing as per the chart drill down or up. Can somebody please help? For example, if I have a column chart showing sales every quarter and if I drill down, then the month-wise sales is displayed. Additionally, I also have a slicer for quarter to select. When I drill down to Q2 in the chart, my slicer should change the options to show only Q2 selected. Regards, Rutuja1.5KViews0likes2CommentsVisual "slicer" - frame missing on Report Server
Dear community, we are using the Power BI Desktop RS version May 2022 and the Report Server version May 2022. After installing the update, we have recognized problems with the visual "slicer" (German "Datenschnitt"). There are new options for the frame: We have set all the options on the right side "obere", "untere", "links", "rechts". In Power BI Desktop, everything is fine. After uploading the report on the report server, the frame is missing: We have tested with Firefox, Edge and Chrome. Anyone else with the same problem? Thanks for your help. Hello, I have a table visualization in a report published online that has links to articles that are relevant to our project. I included slicers as a way to filter the articles that you want to find info about. I'm wondering if it is possible for end users (whoever stumbles upon our published online link to the report) to download only the data presented when the slicers are on? Thanks for your insights!Solved816Views0likes2Comments
