Hi, I have created report using multifuel data sources- Share point lists and excels from share folder. Currently I need to manually refresh the report and publish it again so the data will get updated…. I want to add scheduled refresh but do not succeed to make it happen. I entered "Mange"--> "Scheduled refrash" tab but i can't becouse there is notification: "Stored credentials for this report are missing. Please go to the Data Sources page for this report and set your credentials for each data source to enable scheduled data refresh " So i moved to "data sources" tab and tried to connect sources but i get error "log on failed": tried various combinations but not sure what credentials they request or which password.... How can i find the correct credentials? Is it possible to schedule refrash for this kind of report? I have a sharepoint list that being imported to PowerBI dataset with over 40000 items and have had no problem to refresh until yesterday. I got this error message when refresh both in Service and PBIdesktop. Changed to Sharepoint Online List connector 1.0 the problem solved, but it takes forever to load, weirdly loading way bigger than the actually size of the list. What could be the problem? Is it like one person on this site said the SharePoint List is corrupted? Good morning! Grateful if someone can help me resolve the following issue: I built a Power BI report through Power BI desktop and published it to a shared workspace. Everything works just fine with only one report in that workspace. After I save a new copy of the report in the same workspace and refresh the dataset, part of the visualisation underpinned by a SharePoint list in that report disappear. Does anyone know the reason and help me out here? Thanks!940Views0likes1CommentIntermittent The execution failed for the shared data set
I am getting intermittent errors on reports. I have a new installation of PBI Server, 15.0.1103.234, Native, with remote SQL server. This report has (3) shared datasets, (2) from SharePoint Lists and (1) from Oracle. The report and the SharePoint datasets are set to always run with the most recent data. The Oracle dataset is set to use cached copies, which expire on a shared schedule with a refresh plan. The cache refresh of this dataset never fails. The report works most of the time. I get errors like this in the browser and Microsoft.ReportingServices.DataExtensions.SharePointList.SPDPException in the Reporting Services Service log. The report does not have a dataset called 'DataSet1' like the error message implies. I refresh the browser once, sometimes twice, and the report runs without errors. I haven't been able to find a pattern so any tips on how to troubleshoot this are appreciated. An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) The execution failed for the shared data set 'PDS_PROJECTS'. (rsDataSetExecutionError) The execution failed for the shared data set 'SP_PROJECT_HIGHLIGHTS'. (rsDataSetExecutionError) Query execution failed for dataset 'DataSet1'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) An error occurred when accessing the specified SharePoint list. The connection string might not be valid. Verify that the connection string is correct. (rsSPDataProviderError) The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send. We discovered today that when making a connection to a SharePoint list and running certain data transformations it would continuously prompt for the users authentication and throw authentication errors. We checked the SharePoint logs and noticed nothing was being passed and after troubleshooting found that it appears to be related to the number of columns in the list. This particular list had 251 columns, connecting to it worked fine but adding unpivot or right outer join causes the authentication errors to appear. Removing all but 5 columns from the query resolved the issue, so it appears that some data transformation can not handle large number of list columns. Anyone run in to this before? The obvious workaround is to remove the columns that were not needed but wondering if there is a hard limit for data tranformations?544Views0likes0Comments
