______________________________________________________________________________________________ a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Hi everyone, I'm experiencing an issue when trying to create a new connection in Power BI to an Excel file stored in a SharePoint folder. The process I'm currently using is: I navigate to the file in SharePoint; Click (...) > Details; Scroll to the bottom of the details pane and copy the file path; Open Power BI Desktop; Select Get Data > Web; Paste the SharePoint file URL/path. However, when I try to establish the connection, Power BI reports that the credentials are invalid. The strange part is that I have access to both the SharePoint folder and the Excel file itself. In fact, I can navigate to the file normally in SharePoint to copy its path. This issue prevents me from creating new connections directly to files stored in SharePoint and, consequently, from configuring scheduled refreshes for my dashboards in Power BI Service. One important detail is that files that were already connected previously can still be refreshed normally in Power BI Desktop. The issue mainly occurs when I try to create a new connection. I'm also having problems refreshing these connections directly through Power BI Service (app.powerbi.com). I experienced this same issue before. At some point, it stopped happening without any apparent change on my side, but now the problem has returned. Has anyone experienced this behavior before? Is there a definitive solution for the "invalid credentials" error when connecting Power BI to Excel files stored in SharePoint? I'm also wondering whether there is a recommended authentication method, permission setting, credential cache configuration, or a better connection method for Excel files stored in SharePoint. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.92Views0likes1CommentSharePoint excel import
