Hello, I'm using Power BI Report Server October 2017 on a virtual machine and I'm using as a data source for the moment just a local excel file. I update the excel every day and I want to set up the Power BI Report Server for scheduler refresh. When I try to do this I have the following error: Scheduled data refresh is unavailable for files not mapped to a network drive path. I have nothing else installed like getaway, etc., because i don't know if I need to. Here is the error: Thanks20KViews0likes11CommentsPower bi DB server setup as alternative for Azure SQL server
Dear Experts I need to setup a power bi configuration for generating dashboard report on power bi services in environment similar to (azure sql server) , please review the attached Image with the thread , I need to do this setup on the cloud using (open source) repositories (Not Azure). The Infrastructure and processes as the following: 1-Extract the data from API as (JSON) format. 2-Create a script e.g.(Python) that convert the JSON format into Tabular (Row & column) format the script will do the cleansing part of the data. 3-The script on (2) will Insert/Update the data into (Mysql or Postgressql) DB. 4-We need to put the Power Bi (PBi) desktop application in a server (cloud). 5-This server on (4) have credentials on (PBi) services to refresh the data daily and setup this through Enterprize Gateway. 6-The User will be able to read the updated data from (PBi) cloud services. I need the Ideal setup to do the above Infrastructure as an alternative of (Azure Sql server) , taking into consideration the following: The host(s) should be in the cloud. For The power bi desktop application (4) is it better to be on the same host of the DB (3) or in a separated host? which is more better? explain please. The alternative solution should be less cost than Azure by at least 40-50%. Waiting your advises.Solved1.6KViews0likes5CommentsPowerBI Report Server Service Stop

Hello, i'va a "master" PBIX that define the model that's published to my tenant pbi service, i've a PBI Pro licence. then, i constructed some reports, that get their data from the model, live. did that by using "get data"->"Power BI"->"Power BI datasets" under pbi desktop. everything is fine, and I publish them to the pbi servcie, I can use them, the scheduled refresh to my "master" reflect to the other reports connected to it. BUT, when i publish this PBIX to my onpremise "PBI report server", I'm unable to use it. i'm unable to find an authentication model that works. I keep getting into my server log file: System.ArgumentException: The integrated security 'ClaimsToken' is not supported for native connections. (if i use Integrated Security=ClaimsToken into my report->data source) or System.ArgumentException: The integrated security 'Basic' is not supported for native connections. (if i use Integrated Security=BASiC into my report->data source) is that scenario supported ? what should i use as the "Integrated Security" property into my dsn ? the one I have right now is the one that set by uploading the PBIX into my report server. thanks927Views0likes0CommentsNetezza Direct Query in Reporting Services (Aug) Not Working
Hi all, While testing the additional data sources that are now available with the August update of the Power BI Reporting Services, I am encountering an issue while connecting to IBM Netezza (Beta) connection, using Direct Query. I can create/run the report OK in the RS Power BI Desktop and publish it to the Report Server as well. However, when going to the server ro run it, I get the following error: We do have all of the connectors (ODBC and OLEDB) for Netezza installed on the server. Any ideas? Thanks! --Jim2.6KViews0likes2Comments
