Scheduled refresh stuck or delay
Hello PBRS team, I'm using the version 1.14.8179.37378 (2022, May). Two server grouped as scale-out. Recently I found that scheduled refresh delayed and stuck when mannlly triggeredand then successfully refresed after few hours later. What I'm trying - Edit the rsconfig file to set one server with larger RAM to provide refresh service -- not work - Stopped some big dataset refresh job -- not work - Found error in logs -- nothing specical - Restart server and SQL agent service -- not work - Delete rows of "Events" table in powerbi database -- not work, and the rows grows every day, currently more than 600+ - Upgrade version from 2021. Sep -- not work Help please
Schedule refresh doesn't update data for csv data source file
I create pbix file with a csv data source file which is located in network share folder. Then I upload it to Power BI report server and create a schedule refresh plan. Then I change the data in my csv file. Although the refresh is completed, when I download and check pbix file, the data doesn't update.
API connections in two steps no longer working
Hi, I've several reports that connect to third party sources using private API's - as they have daily exports of the current data, I wrote queries to connect to the API to get the list of exports, then take that answer and put it in to another version of the same API, giving me the information from the correct export. All of them have stopped working with the Jan 2021 update of report server - they will refresh correctly in the desktop but scheduled refreshes fail with the generic error: COM error: Microsoft.PowerBI.ReportServer.ASEngineManagedRoot, The given data source kind is not supported. Data source kind: UnknownCallsite.. One of the reports is still refreshing but when I copy that query into a new blank report, that fails it's test scheduled refresh with the same error. Does anyone know why this is or if there is a work around? Hello Team, We're using Power BI On premise report server, most of our power bi users are using schedule refresh feature . Here, some of our users are scheduling their reports to execute every 10 mins, 15 mins or 30 mins. Due to this, it's impacting to other scheduled reports like as below example. For example , if a report has scheduled for today at 8 am , but it's getting picked up by next day 5 pm i.e. running by 1 day late approx. and slowly this keep increasing and report which was about to run today is getting run by 2 weeks after and so on. This is happening because of most of the users started refreshing their reports at every 1 min , 5 mins , 10 mins, 15 mins …intervals on daily basis due to which all refreshes are getting queued up there by impacting the regular refreshes and causing delay. To fix this issue temporarily, we have informed to our users that in order keep going this process smoothly, have minimum “1” hour as refresh interval benchmark and not less than to that. For suppose, if we've a second server ( i.e. gateway server ) , will be able to fix this issue ? Please suggest us how to overcome this issue. Current, our power bi report was configured with 14 CPU Cores , 48GB Memory and OS is Windows Server 2016 . Thanks in advance !Scheduled Refresh could not started and not run according to schedule
the PBI report server i have has quite some number of dashboard >50 dashboards. the dashboard has its refresh scheduling running without problem. However, i noticed since 23/11/2019, several of the dashboard (5 dashboards) suddenly was not able to run its refresh schedule properly and when i tested by buidling a new dashboard and create a refresh schedule, none of the new refresh schedule able to trigger according to its scheduled timeline anymore. and although i set the scheduling at rapid rate of every 5 minutes, it does not get started as well. i also noticed that the starting date is starting at 12/3/2019 after choosing Dec 3, 2019 from the scheduled refresh plan form (see below picture). when i queried the sql server, the schedule was there with date captured correctly 2019-12-03. there is no error log found as well related to this schedule problem. i am currently using PBIRS version Sept 2019 (October release). appreciate if anyone could adve other step to explore to find error that cause this problem. thanks sql server for dashbaord schedule
