Hi Folks I am experiencing a weird issue on newly built servers where I have migrated the report server databases from SQL 2017 to SQL 2025 and Powerb Report server (May 2026) is installed in a scale out deployment on the same SQL AG nodes. Environment Power BI Report Server (Native Mode) 2-node scale-out deployment ReportServer database hosted on a SQL Server Always On Availability Group Access through a cluster/network name (virtual hostname) HTTPS configured using a new SSL certificate Both PBIRS nodes point to the same ReportServer database The PBIRS web portal loads successfully on both nodes. Authentication succeeds. However, it always displays "This folder is empty message" when webportal is accessesed from primary replica node. When requests are served by Node B, All reports and folders are displayed correctly. The behavior appears to follow the active hosting node rather than the user account. Has anyone come across this issue or have a clue on what is going on? Thanks in advance.318Views0likes7CommentsIssues with connection to Oracle Database data source in Power BI Desktop RS May 2026
There are two issues revealed in May 2026 version of Power BI Desktop RS app when working with "Oracle Database" data source. [1] From May 2026 version Power BI Desktop RS cannot connect to TNS names from tnsnames.ora that linked using instruction "IFILE" (include from external file): IFILE = N:\DBA\Oracle\additional_tnsnames.ora January 2026 version can work with such external TNS names (although Report Builder never can). [2] From May 2026 verson Power BI Desktop RS cannot connect to some usual TNS names that worked before. It returns strange Oracle error "Oracle: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied". But in fact credentials are correct, server is available. You can rollback Power BI Desktop RS to January 2026 version and same connection works again. Problems above looks like some new bug in "Oracle Database" data source type.964Views0likes8CommentsRow Level Security - SSAS/Report Server
Hi everybody, I have been struggling lately about how I should implement the "RLS" so that it is reflected in the power bi dashboards. In other words, 1- First, I have designed a SSAS project and implemented roles using dynamic rls and also added desired members 2- Then I deployed the project on an Analysis Server database 3- Creating live connection in power bi and designed my dashboard 4- uploaded the .pbix file on the report server (on-premise). 5- Although I have defined rls in ssas visual studio, all users can see all of the information? and this is something that bothers me. Note: I analyzed my SSAS project in Excel and all RLS configs are working like a charm. (RLS in Power bi -> Not ok, Excel -> Ok) Is there anything else that I am missing which leads to this outcome? I greatly appreciate your help. Thanks, KasraSolved2.5KViews0likes9CommentsAdd context url to powerbi endpoint
Hello everyone, I asked a similar question a couple months ago but after testing out some options we are still on an empasse. Basically what we are trying to achieve is add a context url to each Report Server - Power BI virtual directory. Those are: /Reports /ReportServer /powerbi Through the use of an apache server, we managed to add the context we need in front of /Reports and /Reportserver, re-writing urls to /omr/Reports and /omr/ReportServer. We still have problems with the third virtual directory, which is /powerbi. What happens when you navigate to any dashboard inside a Report Server is that internally, the Web Page of the Report Server calls /powerbi endpoints to retrieve the corresponding data. The problem is that we need that endpoint to be rewritten to /omr/powerbi, but we cant do that server side. We need to have a way to change it in the fetch operation, when the request is sent. Is there any possibility to do this?Solved2.1KViews0likes5CommentsHow to increase data retention period in ReportServer database for monitoring dashboards
Hi everyone, I'm currently using the ReportServer database to build a monitoring dashboard for my SSRS reports. Everything is working fine, but I’ve noticed that the available data only covers the last 60 days. For better trend analysis, I need to retain data for a longer period (e.g. 90 days or more). Does anyone know how I can increase the data retention period in the ReportServer database, so that my dashboard can show a broader timeline? Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙏 Thanks in advanceSolved1KViews0likes2CommentsPowerBi published in PowerBi report Server Direct link
Hi All, i've a lot of PowerBi (.pbix) report published in our PowerBi Report Server (not powerbi.com). Each report contains more than one sheet. Is it possible to create a direct link that allow to open directly not the default page of the report? I try using "pageName" or "ReportSection" but doesnt' work. Below some example used (not working): https://MyReportServer/reports/powerbi/MyReport?PageName=1 https://MyReportServer/reports/powerbi/MyReport?PageName=ReportSection1 https://MyReportServer/reports/powerbi/MyReport?ReportSection=1 Thanks in advance for you support, Daniele2.7KViews0likes10Comments401.2 Access denied when testing the ReportServer URL as a regular windows user
Hello, We are having an issue where we cannot access the ReportServer URL from any client unless the user is in the Computername\Administrators group on the report server itself. Could this have something to do with a User Rights assignment or possibly the URL Reservertaion and the user attached to it? The problem is that this means none of our regular users can run a paginated report. Thanks, Dy6.7KViews0likes13CommentsReport Server does not complete Data Refresh
Hi all, I have the following issue several days ago. When I publish a new report or re-configure the Screduled Refresh for old reports, the Status of Scheduler stucks in "Updating" Status. But the old reports that run and were scheduled 1 month before (without touching them) are working properly (they finish the scheduler correctly). Here some information of my environment: If need some additional information please just let me know. Thanks. Oscar.Solved1.1KViews0likes2Comments
