report server configuration manager
3 TopicsAfter upgrading to jan 2023, can't use report server configuration manager "Provider load failure"
Hi, I upgraded Power BI report server to the latest version (January 2023), after that I launched the report server configuration manager, I have the server name which is the name of the server where PBIRS is installed but the instance field is grayed out when I click on find I get the error message "Provider load failure". I’ve tried to uninstall PBIRS and install it again but i get the same error, I even installed the older version may 2022 and I got the same error. NB: my sqlserver database is on another server but it was working fine, I checked if I can still connect from sqlserver management Studio from the server where PBIRS is installed to the one where the database resides and it works just fine. please if anybody can help out.2.1KViews0likes7CommentsReceived an error after upgrading Power BI Report Server to January 2022.
We always follow Power BI Report Server's release to upgrade our on-premise Power BI Report Server. After upgrding our Power BI Report Server from September 2021 to January 2022, an error was thrown. Please see the image below. I couldn't configure Power BI Report Server's database because of that error. Our Power BI Report Server was installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 (the server name is PBIRS) and accessed a remote SQL Server 2016 (the server name is DBServer) when this error happened. I requested supports from a Microsoft forum and they sent me here. Recently we upgraded our Power BI Report Server to Windows Server 2019 (PBIRS) and also upgraded its remote database server to SQL Server 2019 (DBServer). After upgrading, the only "Report Server Instance" is DBServer's SSRS so it's no way to connect our Power BI database on DBServer from PBIRS' Report Server Configuration Manager. All the Power BI dashboards are working good. The scheduled data refresh are updating data daily. So what's your suggestions to resolve the Report Server Connection issue? Thanks in advance!Solved3.2KViews0likes4CommentsDNS_FAIL when using Report Server Configuration Manager
Hello everyone. I have been searching for someone with this problem, but "dns" casts no results in the search bar; hope someone can help. When using either of the URLs generated by the Report Server Configuration manager, I encounter the following error: It is in Spanish (as you can see) but it reads (rough translation): ---------------------------------------- This website cannot be shown. The host name resolution has failed (DNS search) for this host name (www.madppvescom02.com). It is possible that the Internet address is wrongly written of obsolete, that the host (www.madppvescom02.com) is temporary out of service o that the DNS server does not answer. Please verify that you have correctly entered the Internet address. If it is correct, try this request later. If you have any question, contact your organization's network administrator and give the codes that are follow: ----------------------------- And then the details of the error. I must specify that this comes from trying to use the sofware in a remote desktop, in case that matters. Could anyone shed some light about this topic? Many thanks in advance, Alberto.Solved1.9KViews0likes2Comments
