Excel Refresh
I have a datamodel connected into Excel as my users only are familiar with that and wont change to leveraging PowerBI. When I use the Analzye in Excel function or connect to the Data Model from PowerBI it works as it is intended, however where I am running into issues is with the constant need for the model to continiously refresh when my users are leveraging multiple filters with pivots leveraging measures created from PowerBI. When this happens it looks like it is consistently refreshing the data model. I've turned off all of the refresh options within the query but I can't seem to get passed this. Each time the data loads its taking close to 30-60 seconds to refresh its connection to the model. Any help or recommendations on alternative solutions to this is appreciated!!
Error on datasource refresh
Has anyone seen this error before? It happens on datasource refresh. And don't specify where the error occurs... Refreshing dataset without loading new data
Dears, I have a report published on PBI Service. I set the automatic refresh TWICE a week. o The 1st time: I want it to refresh the dataset without importing new data from the source (to check if the gateway connection is errored or something happened in the source) o The 2nd time: refresh and import new data How can I do that in the 1st time of refreshing?Simulate Refresh Button press (Not page Refresh) for direct query report (Report ServeR)
Has anyone found a decent solution to refreshing a direct query report in intervals ? I have been using a 3rd party add-in to refresh the page but would like something to simulate the refresh button press. Then the page (F5) does not refresh but only the report. I dont understand why it is so difficult to find a solution to this. We have a report using direct query to a SQL server displaying on wallboard. The Super Auto refresh add-in works but that refreshes the whole page and then there are a few seconds whre the report is blank due to "Data Refresh" message. If you can just simulate the "Refresh" button, the user experience would be much smoother. Any other solutions out there ?
