Running Jan 2021 PBI RS What is a good way to get proactivitly alerted to a scheduled refresh stopping? Sometimes a scheduled refresh just stops happening and users have to let me know. Once I click 'refresh now' the schedule refreshing begins again. If PBI RS doesn't natively do this has anyone worked out a decent workaround?Solved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsScheduled Refresh Plan for Power BI Server connected to Maria DB
Hi all, we are working on a Report on Power BI Server connected to a MariaDB database through the ODBC Connector (as described on their website) as "Import" (not Direct Query). We cannot setup the Scheduled Refresh Plan, it seems impossible to setup under these conditions. IT is shown the following error under the "Scheduling Update" tab it gives the following error: "Planned data update is not available for reports. The report does not contain defined external data connections or uses an unsupported data source" Do anyone have a solution for this issue? Many thanks, A1.3KViews0likes1CommentRefresh dataset error

Hi, I would like to understand something since me and my colleagues are using a common Service account to schedule the refresh of our data sources in Report Server. The SVC is authorized correctly on every SQL Server, Folder or source we are using. The data refresh seems to be working just partially, sometimes it happens succesfully, several times it throws the error. The below is an example of it, I didnt change anything between the 2 schedules, same da different results. It seems to be some kind of Queue error, probably too many Reports are due to refresh at the same time, but I can't find any info about it on the web. Is there somebody who knows about this issue and the related solution? Many thanks651Views0likes0CommentsUnable to Refresh desktop after updating PBI
Two of my reports won't refresh at all, and a third has a completely blank report, although the data is there in the data tab. My fellow developer has not updated and he has no problems. The reports on the service are refreshing just fine. If I refresh individual tables, they're fine, but when I hit refresh at the top it all fails. I have uninstall and reinstalled Power BI.1.6KViews0likes6CommentsData from Salesforce objects don't refresh after publishing
Hello, I created a dashboard in Power Bi desktop using data from Salesforce objects. In desktop version it works perfectly, but once I publish it, the data don't update in the online version. I've tried to refresh, but nothing happened. It stays in the same form as the dashboard was at the time of publication even if the data has already changed. I checked the gateway connection, but it says I don't need it since data sources are in the cloud. What should I do to make the refresh work? Thank you, MagdaSolved719Views0likes1CommentRefresh SharePoint List Dataset from Team's Workspace
Hi All, My PowerBi Desktop had updated to version August 2021. I had published my report to Microsoft Team's under My Workspace. I went to the setting to configure database refresh, there are only Anonymous and OAuth2 authentication methods available. I was still unable to refresh the database from Microsoft Team via Sharepoint List. May I know is there any resolution to refresh the database for Sharepoint list? Thank you.Solved1.1KViews0likes2Comments~10 second data refresh on Desktop fails when published
I have created the same report twice; once using Power Query to transform the data and once using SQL code to transform the data. In both cases, the report is seemingly unable to finish a refresh of the data after it's been published to my workspace. I know the gateway I'm using works because I am already using with several other reports that I have authored. In PBI Desktop a refresh of the data in either version of the report only takes 15 seconds at most The SQL commands I wrote all resolve in less than 2 seconds individually The largest table is 770k rows and the other six tables are less than 250k rows 5 are import, 2 are direct query all information is coming from the same SQL database The information is organized into a fairly simple star model I don't know where I should begin when it comes to troubleshooting. I was hoping that recreating it with SQL code would fix it, but it didn't change anything.Solved852Views0likes2Commentsreport refresh and timezone not updating

Hi, I'm encountering an issue with scheduled refresh in Power BI Service every start of the month. The scheduled refresh log shows it refreshed the data as scheduled but when I checked the dataset, report, and dashboards the data was not refreshed. I had to manually refresh the data in Power BI Desktop and upload it to the Power BI Service in order to get the updated data. This always happen every start of the month onwards wherein the data is not getting refreshed anymore by Power BI Service. The Power BI reports that has this issue are those that have different data sources and have a relationship between tables coming from different data sources. I usually use SQL data and have a custom table inserted for lookups in the relationship. I'm also using Direct Query. I'm not sure which of the states contributes to the issue. Hopefully you can help me with this issue. Best regards, Mark V.729Views0likes1Comment
