Hi - Below, we have figured out the javascript code that can be pasted into the console to get a PowerBI Report Server report to refresh the data only (i.e. clicking the refresh button) on a timer. We can get this to work whether you are on the regular screen of the report server report or with it in the embed view, but not when it is actually embedded. The use case would be to provide "real-time" data using report server so that these reports could be kept open, refreshed, and the dropdown choices stay as the user selected. Does anyone know how to get this code below to work when embedding a report on a website on an internal network? Thank you! function refreshPowerBI() { this.frames[0].postMessage({kind:"powerbi.reportServerHost.IToolbarActionMessage",button:"refresh"},"https://[our report server]:443") } if(window.autoRefreshInterval) { clearInterval(window.autoRefreshInterval); }; window.autoRefreshInterval = setInterval(refreshPowerBI, 60*1000)6.4KViews0likes10CommentsWeb page as datasource automatic refresh error The module named 'Html' has been disabled...

Hi We are about to go live with an on premise power bi report server - i.e. on our network When a user goes to the web portal - and browses to a folder containing reports - like https://servername.domain.local/ReportsPBI/powerbi/folder1 then they see the report etc. At the top - their are some options - File, View, Edit in Power Bi Desktop, Explore Refresh. What does the refresh buton actually do ? i.e. will hitting the Refresh option do a manual refresh of the data in the report? If not is there a way for the end user to force a refresh of the data in the report (from their web browser?) ThanksSolved5.7KViews1like3Commentsincremental refresh is not working properly

This happens rarely, but sometimes when you refresh a Power BI Dataset in the app.powerbi.com, Refresh does not start (atleast in terms of Visually seeing the Refresh Icon Progress). but after few hours, it shows you It got refresh. Even in Setting - > Schedule Refresh initially It does not show your refresh in progress. For example - If I press refresh button twice, Since it was not showing me Refresh in Progress when I clicked on it first, after an hour or two, It shows 2 Refresh has been Completed. I cannot reproduce this bug everytime, but this happend to me 2-3 times already1.6KViews0likes3CommentsCan't refresh data from public API even it passes the Data Source Credentials.
