I am trying to connect to redshift through Power BI service, however our redshift needs IPs to be whitelisted. We have tried tracing the request hitting redshift and whitelisting that IP, however after some time we were unable to access redshift from power BI service. Is there any way I can know the list of IP addresses which has to be whitelisted on redshift to have uninterrupted access to the data on Power BI service(premium per user)?1.1KViews1like1CommentError "Native queries aren't supported by this value." using Redshift database
Hello everybody, Please help me with this issue. I´m using a simple "select" registered in advance options of de Amazon Redshift connection, and it works in Desktop Power BI version, but when I published the report in web it return this error message while refreshing the dataset: "Native queries aren't supported by this value." I'm using Amazon Redshift database and don´t have any problems conecting to tables or views, however a simple select statement returns an error. Let you the sentence, by the way, one of the sources is a view (left outer join) I've changed de conection from Direct query to Import query, but the problem continues. Thank you for your help. We are using a power BI report server for internal comsumption of reports. We have a new data source in Amazon Redshift. We are planning to write reports with redshift as the data source and deploy them to our on-premise report server. However, looking at the page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/data-sources this says that "Some data sources are available in Power BI Desktop for Power BI Report Server, but aren't supported when published to Power BI Report Server". In the list of supported data sources, it says that Amazon Redshift is supported for "Cached Data", but not for Scheduled Refresh and Live/Direct Query. What does "Cached Data" mean ? Is it the data in the report from when you last refrehed it in power bi desktop only ? i.e. when you upload the report to the report sever, is there then no way to refresh the data ?Solved1.5KViews0likes1Comment- 960Views0likes2Comments
Issue with Gateway with only one report
Hello everyone, Has anyone ever run into an issue where a specific Power BI pbix file seemed to have adverse affects on your on prem gateway? I had a specific report that was connecting to an AWS Redshift data source and every time I would refresh the report in app.powerbi, I would get an error message saying that the gateway ran into an issue and the gateway may have been restarting (common error it seems like). But it would only happen with that report. It also appeared, although I can't confirm, that the gateway was crashing when I would try to refresh this report and then would restore itself some time later. I ended up rebuilding it completely from scratch with a new pbix file. Additional details, all of our reports use AWS Redshift as a data source. They all connect to the same cluster.493Views0likes0Commentspower BI reporting services Licensing
Hi All, My enterprise use SSRS and has a license for SQL Server Enterprise Edition . According link we can use power bi report server as well without pay extra. I've few questions: 1. Are the clients should pay for the service - watch and interact those reports ? 2. Is there possibility to build those reports with direct query to AWS Redshift ? 3. Is there possibility to design reports with enterprise logo same as SSRS ? Tks, Dan948Views1like0Comments
