6 TopicsReport Server Print Current Page as PDF
When I first started using Power BI Report Server last year (Sept 2021 version), I was able to scale a report page so that when Print Current Page was selected, the report page could be automatically scaled to fit on a letter or 11x17 page size when printed as a PDF. I was requested to provide this functionality so that one-page shots from the report could be included as PDFs when sending out update notifications to report consumers. This allowed them to see a quicl snapshot of the data without having to open the report. Recently, possibly when my project switched to using Edge as it's browser (previously I beleive we used Chrome), the functionality that made this possible has changed. Now when users select the option, the image that prints as a PDF only occupies about two thirds of the available space in a letter and the rest is just gray. There does not seem to be any way to adjust for this in Power BI either in the Report Server settings or in the Desktop settings. Is known there a reason why this would suddeny change. Is it a compatibility issue with Edge, I can't find any information that addresses what is happening and am at a loss as to what could be done to fix it. It seems fairly inconguent that this option is provided as part of report server but does not work intuitively for end content consumers. My project is restricted to using Report Server and the fact that the functionality does not work from the standard of a reasonable expectation by the end-user is very frustrating and tarnishes their view of and desire to use the product. I'm oping that someone else has experienced this situation and can provide any advice. Thanks in advance.722Views0likes1CommentPrint / Export Power BI reports to PDF or PowerPoint from on-premise Report Server
The Power BI cloud service has had the ability to export an entire report (all tabs) to either a PDF or PowerPoint file for quite some time. Yet, this capability does not exist on the Power BI Report Server (although it can print paginated reports just fine). Why hasn't anyone considered adding this capability to the report server? Yes, I understand the logic behind visuals being "fluid" and the need to print them *should* be minimal, but the reality here in the business world is executives like to have hard copies of reports, whether they are physically printed on paper or embedded as images in an e-mail or PowerPoint slide. My organization (a Native American tribe) cannot use the Power BI cloud service for mainstream reporting due to costs of licensing, data security restrictions, and soverignty requirements. Therefore, in-house report servers are a must for distributing our analytics efficiently. We have a heavy investment in SQL Server and SSRS, and want to leverage Power BI in the same way. Yes, there's at least one idea for this posted on the Ideas forum (which I have voted for), but I can't tell from the statuses or other messages over there whether anyone at Microsoft is even looking at them (i.e. some ideas there listed as "under review" were implemented into production months ago, and other ideas with thousands of votes dating back four years are still waiting), so I decided to ask here instead.2.9KViews1like3CommentsPrint full Page

Hi, Currently we are using PowerBI report server in house deployment. We have a requirment to print PowerBI dashboard/ reports we developed. But it is does not work as required, the print is not what we see what we get. We are using IE 11. Has Power BI fixed this issue? Please Note: We are using PowerBI Aug, 2008 released. Thanks.1.4KViews1like1CommentPrint Out from PBI Report Server Not Working Correctly
I've searched for an answer here, but don't see my same question. We have on-premises only Power BI Report Server January 2019. We have users who want to be able to print out a report. What they (and I) are seeing is a horrible print out! The left margin is huge, and the entire current page does not get printed. We've even tried making the report full browser page with the following params added to the end of the report URL: "?rs:Command=Render&rc:Toolbar=false" It did not work either. It did the same thing. I've attached a screenshot of a PDF because the PDFs are printing out the same way: horrible. What are we doing wrong?608Views0likes0Comments
