6 TopicsPricing, Licensing, and System Requirements for On-Premise Power BI Report Server Deplyment
I'm planning to deploy Power BI Report Server on our on-premise servers. Could someone provide details on the total pricing, the type of licensing required, and the system requirements for this setup? Thanks in advance!659Views0likes1CommentDo we need separate user license for each user who views Power BI Report Server reports
We are using SharePoint 2016 Enterprise on-premise and now want to install and integrate Power BI Report Server with SharePoint. We are looking for Premium license as mentioned on following page: Pricing & Product Comparison | Microsoft Power BI My question is, any user who will access Power BI reports in browser (or using Power BI Desktop) will require license or this license is only for user who will create reports? Also tell me if it has any additional license like annual server license or something.Solved487Views0likes1CommentDoes Power BI Report server require annual user licensing?
With the Report Server model, my assumption is that I can install PBI Report Server locally and have my report-creation users download Power BI Desktop at no additional cost. Past the cost of SQL Server Enterprise, to run PBI Report Server, are there any other costs involved with setting up a Power BI Report Server environment? For example, would there be any per-user licensing involved (is there still a need for Power BI Pro or Power BI Premium yearly licenses if we are only working locally with Report Server)? Also, it sounds like Power BI Report Server is provided free to those with existing agreements for SQL Server Enterprise edition. Thanks!4.9KViews0likes5CommentsPowerBI Report Server Costs
Hi, I have seen LOTS of discussions on the topic of PowerBI Report Server Costs; What I need to zero in on is: "Power BI Report Server is available through Power BI Premium or as a Software Assurance (SA) benefit for customers with active SQL Server EE with SA licenses. Contact your Microsoft representative for more information" I take this to mean: IF you have SQL Server EE and SA you get Power BI Report Server-I just don't see what the add on costs are if any. Also, I have setup the Power BI Report Server and I can publish straight to it; I understand the free version is supposed to block this...does this mean "in use" I'm really a Pro User? One final question: Must the Power BI Report Server run on the same server as EE?4.9KViews0likes5CommentsNumber of users Power BI Premium on premise
Hello, I would like to ask you an information, because I can't get a clear answer. Let's say I have 5000 users and I want to deploy Power BI Report Server on premise, so I have to get Power BI Premium (no SQL Server Enterprise with SA available). One single user is in charge of creating and sharing the reports (1 Power BI Pro licence) and the other 4999 need only to view the reports (which are filtered with RLS) frequently. My question is: can I purchase the lowest tier Power BI Premium licence (1 P1 Node) since I'm using my personal server (e.g. 8 cores, 16 GB RAM)? Or do I have to get the number of nodes accordingly to my number of users?796Views0likes0CommentsNumber of users with Power BI Premium on premise
