I would like to suggest the addition of an extensible "Excel Style Combo Chart" feature to Power BI. This feature would allow users to create highly customizable combo charts, similar to those available in Excel. Key functionalities should include: Multiple Series Types: Enable users to add multiple series of any type (e.g., columns, bars, stacked, area, lines, points) within a single chart. Overlay, Order, Opacity: Allow users to overlay different visual types, control the order of series, and adjust the series' opacity to achieve the desired visual effect. Custom Formatting: Provide extensive customization options for each series, including colors, line styles, borders, transparency, markers, and more. This feature would greatly enhance the flexibility and functionality of Power BI visualizations, allowing users to create more complex and informative charts tailored to their specific needs. Indeed, I think if the "Custom Combo Chart" was done well it would eliminate the need to create so many various single purpose charts. Thank you for considering this suggestion.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsFigma Custom Visual - Possible plugin
Hey there! I've got an exciting idea to share with you all. How about creating a Figma custom visual exclusively for Power BI? Microsoft already has a Figma API for Power Apps, so the groundwork is there. Picture this: we'd seamlessly import Figma wireframes or components right into Power BI with sick UI in PNG or SVG files (if that's doable). And to take things up a notch, let's make sure it supports importing component variants like hover, selected, focused, disabled – you name it – complete with their font and colour hex codes. Trust me, this would be an absolute dream and a total game-changer for designing in Power BI! Let's make it happen, team!4.4KViews8likes1CommentСreating data art in a single query (Building any custom visualization based on PROMT as DALL-E)
Ability to build any custom visualization (not a typical visualization) based on "PROMT" as DALL-E for the specified data. To be able to specify colors, and add any specific things in design, animations, putting any filter on the image, using a specific color palette, rounding any corners and so on. If Power BI had a feature similar to DALL-E's capabilities, it would significantly enhance data visualization customization options. Here are some examples of how this could be implemented: Creation of Unique Data Visualizations: Users could input a description of the desired visualization, such as "sales growth chart in a space theme with animated stars and planets." Power BI, using a DALL-E-like tool, would automatically generate this visualization, considering the specified requirements and data. Advanced Customization of Colors and Shapes: Users could specify desired colors and shapes, for example, "build a histogram in pastel tones with rounded corners." The system would adapt the visualization according to these preferences. Integration of Specific Design Elements: Users could add specific design elements, such as logos, brand symbols, or even specific art objects, into their data visualization. Application of Filters and Effects: The ability to add various filters and effects to visualizations, for instance, using an antique map effect for displaying geographic data. Animation and Interactivity: Incorporation of animations that could show changes in data over time or respond to user interactions, like changing visualization on mouse hover. Use of Specific Color Palettes: Support for custom color schemes, allowing users to apply brand-specific or preferred color palettes to their visualizations. This would open up new possibilities for business analysts and data designers, allowing them to create more personalized and visually appealing reports.2.2KViews0likes0CommentsDate filtering from days in months instead of a set date
My idea is to implement a feature that instead of advanced filtering from a set date e.g Jan 31 - March 31, you can filter from the 1st of 2 months ago to today and that will stay and update as the months go by so no matter what time of the year you look at the data, it will always show the 1st of the previous 2 months. I know there is DAX for this but for new users like myself, i have been using power bi for work for 3 months now, it is still a challenge to figure this out. It is on the same principle as the relative data filter, it could be a filter type called advanced relative data filtering. Picking what days and how many months it will filter by.2.8KViews1like0Comments
