Problem with HTTPS on Power bi Report Server
Hi. I'm facing the following problem. Can someone help me to solve this? I configured the power bi report server to work with HTTPS (443 port) keeping the HTTP working too. When I access the URL like this http://urltopowerbireportingservices (HTTP:80), automatically is redirected correctly to https://urltopowerbireportingservices/Reports (HTTPS:443). However, if a access the URL like https://urltopowerbireportingservices (without /Reports), an error 404 occurred (see image 1). URL https://urltopowerbireportingservices/Reports (with /Reports) works perfectly. Image 1 - Error 404 when I access https://urltopowerbireportingservices The problem is that the URL https://urltopowerbireportingservices is not redirecting to https://urltopowerbireportingservices/Reports. How can I configure to make this work? Web Service URL configuration Web Portal URL configuration. The rsreportserver.config file is configured like this: IIS on server is disabled. Thanks.

Hello Microsoft Support & community, After the installation of power bi report server (may 2023 version) the users are getting the error message "An error has occured. Try again later" on scheduling creation or modification on Power BI Report Server portal. When adding a user to the local admin group on the server (BUILTIN\Administrators) creating or modifiying scheduling works as expected. But the point is, we don't want to make every report developer/author server admin.) Thank you for your help.
Finding Unsupported features in Power Bi RS
* Power Bi Report Server is an offshoot of the SSRS report server, enhanced and optimized for hosting Power Bi reports. * The normal Power Bi Desktop created reports likely will not work with this due to having features not supported by the server. * Instead, you need to use a special version of desktop, commonly called Power Bi Desktop RS (version number/date) * You can save an existing Power BI report created in the normal desktop version by saving it as a template and opening it with the RS version. * But, there may still be some advanced features in the report that are not supported in Power Bi Report server and these will prevent the report from being uploaded to the server. Question: Is there an easy way to identify features in a PBi Report that are not supported by the Power Bi Report Server?
Power BI Responsiveness and Performance
Hello, We run a Power BI RS configuration on our domain. This setup was recently updated from the October 2020 build to May 2022. After the update the users have been reporting the following and I wanted to see if there was a way to improve the performance of Power BI. We cannot go to a pbix file and open it. We have to open the application first from the desktop, then use File --> Open. If we try to open a file directly, the PBI icon comes up and it hangs there. It takes several minutes for the PowerBI application to open from desktop. Once a pbix file is open, another one will not open. It starts to open--the PBI icon displays--but it never does open. Similar to bullet 1. This is whether or not we try opening the file directly or use the File menu. Closing a file works fine but we get a message a few minutes after closing that PowerBI has crashed. Power BI RS runs on a Windows Server 2016 VM. The VM has plenty of resources dedicated to it, the memory and CPU are never maxed out.
Excel access to on premise published power bi dataset
HI I know about the Power BI add in for excel and how to connect to dataset in cloud But is there any chance using this to connect to dataset published to on premise power bi report server ? And the option of connecting directly to the pbix file while powerbi desktop is open isnt an option here /m
