Hi Power BI Community, I have loaded data from a Semantic model to my paginated report. During loading the data, I am able to see it as a successful step. However when I try to create a report in the report server, the report runs for a lot of time and finally fails to render the data. Below are the issues observed. Anyone having any idea on these issues ? Issue1: Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occurred. Line 1, position XXXX. The server sent an unrecognizable response. Cannot read the next data row for the dataset 'DataSet1'. An error has occurred during report processing. An error occurred during local report processing. Issue2: Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: Projects_x005B_Project_x0020_Name_x005D_, row, root, return, ExecuteResponse, soap:Body, soap:Envelope. Line 1, position XXXXX. The server sent an unrecognizable response. Cannot read the next data row for the dataset 'DataSet1'. An error has occurred during report processing. An error occurred during local report processing. Issue3: The operation has timed out. The read operation failed, see inner exception. The connection either timed out or was lost. Cannot read the next data row for the dataset 'DataSet1'. An error has occurred during report processing. An error occurred during local report processing.Solved1.2KViews0likes4CommentsHow Connect User from One server to another server for viewing Report

Our client (Company A) and our project team has faced the difficulties below to deploy Power BI Report server solutions. Can you advise how we can get support on that? Company A ’s Requirement: Due to security concerns, users need to get the data in Company A ’s Oracle DB without directly connecting to Company A ’s Oracle DB. Our current solution: First, we create a Data Source connecting to Oracle DB in Power BI Report Server by using ADO.net Connector with SSL (Oracle Wallet). Then, we create a Dataset using the Data Source. And the last, users use Odata Feed connecter in Power BI Desktop/Excel or Postman to connect to the Dataset with Power BI user authentication with Company A's Active Directory. The problems of current solution: Not able to load data into Power BI Desktop/Excel/Postman from Dataset using Odata when the amount of data is large (Timeout occurred), any sizing guide or limitation on this? Not able to create Data Source connecting to Oracle DB by using ADO.net by SSL with Wallet The additional concerns: Limitations of concurrent user capacity Any other solutions could cope with the need required? Thanks for your advice!530Views0likes0CommentsNavigating directly to a report tab on Report Server
Hi, I'm looking to link directly to a tab using a URL query string on PowerBI reporting server. I can filter the report easily enough using the query string parameters in the link below, but I can't see a way of navigating to a specific tab in the report, or opening a specific bookmark when the report is opened. Is this possible on Reporting Server? With the PowerBI service, you can just add the bookmark GUID e.g. <Report URL>?bookmarkGuid=Bookmarkcbd3dcc685835a1e88a9 Hoping there is something similar for Report Server. Cheers, Rich (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-url-filters)1.9KViews0likes2CommentsPower BI on Premises RS - Vertica connection String for ODBC (Direct Query) ???

I am a MSSQL DBA and trying to help my applications team figure out an issue that has all of us scratching our heads. Our PowerBI server connects to SSAS on a different server using impersonation of a service account that has admin access to the SSAS server. One user out of dozens, is having issues using the power bi web portal to access reports. When he tries to open a report, sometimes it works and sometimes it gives us an error that says it cannot connect to the SSAS server and to make sure the data string is correct. No other user has this issue. When they click on the report, they always load. If he uses PowerBI desktop, it works everytime. We've added users to the group accounts before and after adding him. They have no issues. It's only the web portal and it's always the same error message. Things we've checked: Proper Connection String - Despite everyone else able to pull reports, double checked all the strings. User in appropriate OU - Triple checked this. User in required User Groups - Quadruple checked this. Valid Credentials - Changed his password multiple times. IT User his credentials - Making sure it wasn't an user issue. Tried on Chrome and Edge - All the same result.2.3KViews0likes5CommentsHigh CPU Usage on Power BI RS (On premise)
Hello guys, I have a question about Power BI Reporting Services (On Premise) One of the users posted a report that, when this report starts to update the data, consumes 100% cpu and 90% memory. Is there any way to know which report is this? So that I can guide you how to schedule the update And how to limit the use of cpu and memory in the service? Or even by report? regards,11KViews0likes12CommentsPower BI report based on Essabase DirectQuery) is not getting uploaded to Power BI Reporting Server
Hello. I have created a Power BI report based Essbase(DirectQuery) uisng Power BI Desktop. Now I want to upload it to Power BI Reporting servcer. Its giving me generic message of "We're not able to upload this report. The report was created with a recent version of Power BI Desktop that is not yet supported by this server" . The error message does not make sense as I am able to upload a Power BI sql server report without any issue. The version of PB Desktop is Version: 2.81.5831.1181 64-bit (May 2020) . This I downloaded from PBIRS portal which says optimized to use with PBIRS May 2020 version. The version of my PBIRS is 1.8.7485.35104 (May 2020) . Ever I tried creating PB report using PB Desktop 2.76.5678.1521 64-bit (January 2020)..Got same issue..Only with PB Reports based on Essbase connection. The report works fine in PB BI Desktop and PB BI url (publish) I had to use On premise data Gateway. Any suggestion is appreciated Thanks Sujay738Views0likes0Comments
