power bi report server data sources
4 TopicsData is not showing up with values in Matrix Visual using SSAS Live Connection
We have a requirement to show or hide the columns in Power BI Report, able to implement with matrix visual. But when we are using SSAS live Connection for Data, Values are not showing the actual data (with First or Last options), it is showing with aggregated counts. When we use the same data with SSAS Import or SQL Data with Import, values are showing. Below is the sample data Username Company Country SA11001 ABC India SA11002 ABC India SA11003 ABC India SA11004 XYZ USA SA11005 XYZ USA SA11006 XYZ USA Values are showing as count Username Count of Company Count of Country SA11001 1 1 SA11002 1 1 SA11003 1 1 SA11004 1 1 SA11005 1 1 SA11006 1 1 But we need to show data as below with SSAS Cube live connection. Please suggest how to resolve this issue Username First Company First Country SA11001 ABC India SA11002 ABC India SA11003 ABC India SA11004 XYZ USA SA11005 XYZ USA SA11006 XYZ USA1.2KViews0likes4CommentsOn-prem Power BI report server, dynamic 365 data refresh
Hi, Using OData feed connection as - https://<Dynamic 365 IFD URL>/api/data/v8.2/quotes. Inside Power BI desktop, I can connect using organizational account and fetch the data through OData feed. D365 version: Microsoft Dynamic 365 Version 1612 (8.2.2.112) (DB 8.2.2.112) on-premises Organization has on-prem Power BI report server (benefits of SQL EE SA): Power BI Report Server: Version 1.8.7485.35104 (May 2020) I uploaded the newly created report and set up for Data refresh schedule which always throw error - Data source error: Login failed for data source Then I looked for data sources which has connection options as below: Type: OData Connection string: https://<Dynamic 365 IFD URL>/api/data/v8.2/quotes Credential options as Anonymous, Windows Authentication, Basic Authentication but not works and always fail when check test connection. I didn’t tried ‘Key Authentication’ as I am not aware ☹. Please let me know what I am missing or is there any limitations?Solved2.3KViews0likes3CommentsPower Bi report deployment to Production:
Hi, We are good with Dev server and all pbix reports validated. Now how to move these reports from Dev to Prod? I am not able to edit the data source connection string under manage —>data sources. Am only able to edit the connection permissions. So how to edit the connection string to point to Prod data sources? It’s not an ideal solution to open in desktop application and then edit connection and deploying to Prod. Once it’s signed off in Lower environment I can’t change the pbix file at any cost. Please suggest what are the best ways for changing data sources of pbix file. Thanks ManojSolved13KViews0likes6Comments
