power bi report server custom authentication
6 TopicsUsing SSO (Keycloak) authentication for PowerBI on premise (ReportServer)
Dear Community, We are currently using an on-premises ReportServer, with PowerBI, and are exploring options to authenticate our users through a Single Sign-On (SSO) IdentityProvider. In our case, we are utilizing Keycloak, and we would like to use either SAML or OAuth (OIDC) as the authentication type. We are seeking advice on how to achieve this. Is there anyone who has implemented this using OIDC or SAML? Are there alternative methods we could consider? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Dear Community, we are currently using an on-premises ReportServer, with PowerBI, and are exploring options to authenticate our users through a Single Sign-On (SSO) IdentityProvider. In our case, we are utilizing Okta, and we would like to use either SAML or OAuth (OIDC) as the authentication type. We are seeking advice on how to achieve this. Would we need to create our own SecurityExtension, similar to the Custom Security Sample provided on this link: https://github.com/Microsoft/Reporting-Services/tree/master/CustomSecuritySample? Is there anyone who has implemented this using OIDC or SAML? Are there alternative methods we could consider? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I want to embed a report in my Azure web app where users can log in with their ID and see only their own data. Can you tell me what logic I can apply to get specific user data in my embedded report? If I use the service principal method and apply Row-Level Security (RLS), how does Power BI know who the user is logging into my web app, and what parameter do I pass in the RLS report? Do I filter data using GUID?Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsAuthentication Issue(avoid asking User & Pass) after integrating the PBIRS report into angular 14

Hi Team, I have followe the steps mentioned on below link to configure Power BI Report Server with Custom/Form Authentication on my machine. https://github.com/Microsoft/Reporting-Services/tree/master/CustomSecuritySample When configuration completed successfully, i did registration of the user using button Register User. When i use registerd user for Logon it gave error: Could not load folder contents You are not allowed to view this folder. Contact your administrator to obtain the necessary permissions. I am well aware to do security settings at all the places in Report Manager of Users, when we work with windows authentication. But for Custom authentication it was not given in the document on Github, how to create user with Administrative access so he can do folder management, security management for rest of the users. Please do the needful and let me know the next steps to create admin user in form authentication of Power BI Report Server, who can assign various folder view permission to the users exist in User table of UserAccount database . Hello, I'm looking for RedHat SSO (Open ID Connect or SAML protocols) and PowerBI communication. The little thing I find on the subject, it's quite complex custom. Have any of you already managed to implement this? If yes, how? Do you have any documentation or information on the subject? Thank you in advance for your help, Beautiful day, Vivien1.3KViews0likes1Comment
