From Power BI Report server we want to sent email notifications when report is published/modified
From Power BI Report server, we want to sent email notifications when any report is published or modified In the Powe BI the SMTP Configuration is set, however the emails are not getting relayed. Blogs states that there is a .Net framework dependency Framework 4.8 and when tried to apply the patch for framework 4.8 on OS 2019 it's not going through we have also created a test instance and tested the functionality on OS 2022; however it was not working. Note sure if it is a license issue with Report Server; due to which the functionality did not work. Can you pls calrify on this
PBI OnPrem Server Not Rendering PBI Report
Hi All, I am facing an issue and hoping you would be able to help me with it. We recently upgraded to the October 31, 2017 release of Power BI Report Server. That upgrade was on top of the June 2017 version of the server. We also installed the October 31, 2017 version of PBI Desktop and upgraded one of the PBI reports that was initially created using an older version of PBI Desktop. This report, after published to the PBI Server, doesn't render when we try accessing it from the server. The log files have the below error - 2017-11-15 17:42:02.3848|ERROR|249|GetPbixReportMetadataAsync RSPortal returned error code Forbidden for catalogItem c34d0b63-8a48-41ae-9752-69e37f03d48f. Check Portal logs.| RequestID = 93f4c176-c454-c732-c706-d83f52a7c9ba ClientSessionID = 1cfaf8a2-527b-f040-b50a-2a2ba9d70732 We tried with a Live Connection to an Oracle database, a data-import version and also a report without any connections but just text component on it - none of these reports rendered on the server - get the same error in all the cases. Any inputs from the community here would be appreciated! Looking forward to some helpful comments; Thanks in advance!
Excel access to on premise published power bi dataset
HI I know about the Power BI add in for excel and how to connect to dataset in cloud But is there any chance using this to connect to dataset published to on premise power bi report server ? Hi All, We are using custom security extension for PBIRS site authentication due to third-party SSO integration. Before customized, RLS works with adding a role and grant 'everyone' to the role. Currently, with custom extension 'Everyone' can not be added, we created a custom groups so that everyone can access the site, but at RLS permission control page, it only works if we add username one by one. If we add custom groups or 'everyone', people in the custom groups will NOT be able to access the report. unable to connect power BI with SAP BW
Hi Power BI experts, I have issue in connecting my SAP BW system with power BI gate ways, please find the details. What i have done sofar 1.I have installed .net connector 2.Then using SAP BW ware house connection i have succesfull able to connect SAP BW bex queries and model the data in power BI desk top 3.Then i have saved the report and published the report which returned with no gate way acess to data source 4.Then i have succesfully installed SAP gate way cluster and it says online---you can only get started 5.I have installed SAP 7.5 RFC netweaver libary menyioned in the SAP note 1025361, copied dll files from lib folder and placed it in cdrive---windows---system 32 What i am unable to achieve 1.When i try adding data source with option sap buisness warehouse and provided, server instance clinet and user ID and password details and now i get the error message Cannot connect: An error has occurred while connecting to. Details: Cannot register this data source for gateway instances in this cluster. For more information about specific errors for each gateway instance, see below. show details Troubleshoot connection issues 1.I am using Power BI desktop version 2.65.5313.1381 64-bit (desember 2018) 2.I have downloaded 64 bit version SAP NW RFC SDK 7.50 library from the below link link, please see the first screen shot https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/softwarecenter/template/products/_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVEN... 3.I have copied dll filtes from the downlaled SAP RFC libarary from step 2 4. 4.Pasted the copied files in step 3 in to c----windows---system32folder 5.Then created a gate and tried adding data source which gave us the error.
