I have been on a fabric free account where i created dashboards and published the report in my workspace. and shared the link to the users and they did not have to buy licence and they had accessed towards the report. Now as my trial is coming to an end I would like to buy a licence. Its a small team of 30 and nobody has licence. I would like to share the report same way I am sharing now and they would like to see the report without licence. Its a small organisation and wouldnt want to spend a lot of money. what are my best options? Hi, I have bought a Fabric F4 capacity through Azure Portal and assigned it to my company's Fabric workspace. I have published a Power BI report to this F4 Fabric workspace and the accompanying semantic model. Question: If my colleagues from my company want to see the report (both through Fabric portal or using "embed link for website or portal"), do they need any sort of license (Power BI or otherwise)? Or is the F4 capacity workspace enough? The Power BI report pulls data from a fabric warehouse in the same workspace. Thanks!Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsPower BI and Dynamics 365 F&O licenses
Hi, 1. As I can understand from the Power BI materials, every user with whom I share anything (Reports/Dashboards) from Power BI needs to have a license? 2. If user has Power BI license and doesn't have Dynamics 365 F&O license, can they still see everything that I've shared to them? I want to share some data with users which don't have F&O license, that is why I'm curious how can I manage that.Solved1.3KViews0likes1CommentAdd "Licensing and Features" as a topic to add questions or discuss
Hi, There must be a dedicated space for discussing and asking questions regarding licensing and features. Please add the topic "Power BI - Licensing and Features" to the community portal somewhere under the section "Get help with Power BI" in order for the questions to not be hidden under other sections/topics as they seem to be at the moment. Example on what type of section I would suggest: "https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Get-Help-with-Power-BI/ct-p/PBI_Licensing".Solved1.8KViews0likes1CommentPower BI Report Server - Licensing Multiple Instances
Hi I have a question about Power BI Report Server licensing that I can't find an answer to online. How many instances of Power BI Report Server can be licensed using a single Power BI Premium license? Is it one, or can a single Power BI Premium license key be used for multiple Power BI Report Server instances? If it's the latter, then is there a limitation on the number of instances? I appreciate this is not a conventional way to license Power BI but I have a very niche scenario for a client.Solved1.9KViews0likes4CommentsPower BI License cost calculation
Hi, We have a scenario where there are 4000 users of an application out of which 1000 users will author the reports and dashboards using our product's star schema and the remaining 3000 users consume reports. These reports would be embedded and accessed through the application. For this scenario, we would like to understand the licensing cost to decide on the recommendation of reporting product for the below options: 1. Host the reports on Premise Report Server and embed the reports into application 2. Host reports on Cloud and embed the reports into application. While there are multiple references that we have explored but couldnt get clear difference on the cost perspective between on-premise Report server and cloud offering. Can someone provide more details/references where we can get clear estimated cost for this scenario which is critical for our decision making process? Hello, I am planning to covert all my SSRS reports to PowerBi, when I looked for the cost I saw the PowerBI (pro) version cost me $10 per license. Does this license apply only for my development / deployment purpose or should I buy additional license for my Business users (for each business users) who will be accessing/generating the reports. Can someone please clarify it. ThanksSolved2.8KViews0likes6CommentsMay 3 announcement FAQ
