Is it possible to create a standard report and mirror it to more than 20 clients like a saas?
Hi everyone, I created a very complete report, with several pages and dashboards, and I want to sell access to it to users who use the same ERP as me. Since the database, columns and tables will be the same for everyone, I intend to create something truly “plug and play”. The idea is to take my standard report, connect it to each client’s database, and then all the information and calculations would be automatically applied to their database. Also, let’s suppose that in the future I have about 20 clients. I would like to make changes to just one report and, when updating, these changes would be reflected in all clients. My goal is to create something in the style of a SaaS (like this example: https://qint.com.br/ or https://www.gapbi.com.br/) using Power BI as a basis for my clients. I’ve heard that Power BI Embedded would be a good solution for this. Could anyone give me some guidance on how to proceed? The more tips and information, the better!
Embedded Report In Website: After Sign In page requires refresh of website page.
Hello all, I have created multiple Power BI reports that are embedded into my company website and every time a user signs in to view the report the page remains static and the user has to refresh the page no matter what web browser they are using. Frankly, this is unnacceptable and it is damaging to the usage of the report which provides an incredible amount of value for everyone in my company. I need this to be resolved by Microsoft. I am aware of this post on Microsoft Learn (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-embed-secure), but it says the web browsers my users are signing in with are supported yet they still have a refresh issue. Surely this can be fixed and I know someone must be experiencing a similar problem. Please upvote or reply! Thanks all, love this community and I love Power BI just need this to be fixed.
Migrating from SSRS to Power BI Embedded instead of Premium
Is it possible to use Power BI Embedded instead of Power BI Premium or Power BI Premium Per User to host our old RDL reports? If so can we only see the reports embedded in a website? Would the authentication workflow be the same for each? Would it just not work for Power BI Embedded? My question is all about saving money. I'm moving an on prem 2016 SSRS server to an Azure VM. During the process of researching how to do this I ran across the possibility of hosting RDL files on Power BI, but only premium or premium per user. We currently are using Power BI Pro as that price point is much more doable. However I do have the budget to spin up a Power BI Embedded workspace, so with that being the case, it could make sense to deploy the old RDL reports to the Power BI Embedded workspace.
Need help choosing between Power BI Embedded and Power BI Report Server editions
Hi, I need a little help clearing up some terminology and managing some business expectations please. I'm sorry this is a lengthy post, I hope it reads quicker than it looks. Background We have an online application which currently has a report page which has a rolled up view of transactions (by category) and allows drill-down from the aggregated view right down to listing the transactions. If I click on a transaction I am then taken to the appropriate page in the application to view the transaction. We are looking to replace this bespoke functionality that we built ourselves with Power BI so that we not only replace the on-platform reports we have, but also so that we can develop reports using a best-in-breed tool without the need of significant custom development. The idea we currently have is to build the reports and then embed them into a page on our application. This is why we assume that Power BI Embedded would be the right tool for that to work. However, if we need to do development on our pages each time we have added a new report, or in the future, some dashboard component, then maybe we've looked at the wrong version of Power BI. Expectation The expectation is to have a white labelled (branded like our application) reporting and dashboard capability accessible by users who are logged into our application who can only access the data which is associated to their organisation in a multi-tenant environment. As all of our client data is held on-premises, we would prefer to also process the data on-premise rather than have to continually move it to the cloud for processing. Day one It would be for reports which are run and delivered to various parties on a schedule and on-demand. The reports can also be opened from our platform and interacted with (drill-down) but not necessarily in our own interface if it looks like our brand. It might also navigate users to individual transactions in our application (if it can be done, isn't that deep linking?). We would also restrict the creation of reports to internal users rather than our client's who would simply be data consumers. The reports would be be performed against end of last business day and no real-time data required. Day Two There are real-time statistics that we would want to deliver to our clients and we would use our event messaging service (Solace) and setup an ESP (Event Stream Processing) capability to respond to new data events as they come in. These 'tiles' might be displayed on a dedicated dashboard page or, prefereably, available incorporated within our pages. Conclusion Given the background and our expectations, what are the pros and cons on the different types of Power BI? Does any one of the solutions stand out as the best one for the job? What are the trade-offs to consider (example, if Embedded Power BI only works in the cloud then I need to understand what compromises or resets of expectations to make). Hi All, I have developed a report in Power BI Report Server with RLS(Row Level Security). I have published developed report on the Power BI Report Server. Now I am trying to embed the Developed Report in website. I am able to embed a Power BI report in the website but without Security(RLS). All the users are able to see all the data. I want to restrict the access based on the user roles created in Power BI. Is there any way to pass the credentials dynamically to the Power BI Report server for embedded Report in website? Hi, I would like to embed a Power BI Report with a phone layout, published on Power BI Report Server; however, I am unable to get the link or a view to embed a mobile report. I have come accross the following for Power BI Embedded; https://github.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-JavaScript/wiki/Embed-For-Mobile, but would like a solution for the report server. I have noticed in the REST API there is a /MobileReports area but when making a call, I get empty responses. Can embedding a mobile report from Power BI Report Server be done? If so, how? Thank you!
