power bi dataset connection
4 TopicsLoad data from Power BI dataset into Redshift
Hi Forum members, We have a requriement wherein we have to send a few columns' data from the Power BI dataset (which is built from various data sources) to AWS Redshift table and then merge this data to another important table to get the final sales reporting. Can you please help me in understanding the solution that we can implement in our system to meet the above requirement most effectively. We came across a couple of names while searching for the solution - we can either use xmla endpoint or webhook. Any help here would be appreciated.Solved972Views0likes1CommentThere is no available Gateway. Get data from Power BI datasets
I've been using one Power BI dataset (from other's workspace within same organization) and multiple excel files from Sharepoints & OneDrive to build and publish dashboards. It worked fine until last update on Feb 2023. Visuals can't display and on the top there's a error message saying "There is no available gateway". I've never used gateway before and wasn't sure how to solve this issue. Any ideas? Many thanks!869Views0likes2CommentsAuthenticaton Power BI Dataset in Power BI Report Server
Hi, I am currently working on a solution which looks like the following: 1. We build a data model in Power BI Desktop and uploaded it to the Power BI Service in a Premium workspace. 2. We would like to add this dataset as a shared dataset in the Power BI Report server. Therefore, we added a data source with type "Microsoft SQL Azure Analysis Services" and set the connectionstring accordingly. The next step is authentication. The following options are available: We don't want the user to login every time they want to view the report (they already had to log in to the server). We also don't want to create a master account to use the option "Using the following credentials". Currently, it seems to me that the option "as the user viewing the report" seems the right one to choose. However, when I select this option I get the following error message: Is there any way we can resolve this error? If not, is there any way to show the reports to the user without a prompt to log in and without using a master account?839Views0likes2CommentsCreating Cascading Parameters in Power Bi Report Builder using shared Power Bi Dataset Connection
I am new to Power Bi and Report builder. I am trying to make Cascading Parameters for paginated reports using shared Power Bi dataset. However, all of the videos I see are using SQL datasets and use SQL statements instead of DAX. Is it possible to do cascading parameters with a Power BI datset? If so how can I do it and were can I find more information?Solved8.3KViews0likes5Comments
