Good day, please bear with me on this once, since I have no previous knowledge about PBI gateways but I was assigned to a project where I'm supposed to maintain one. Our Client asked us to install npgsql on our VM gateway, so he can connect to his supplier's database (postgresql). I simply installed it on main drive and thought that it should be done (please correct me if I'm wrong). Today he sent me a message that he received error 400. From provided screen I noticed that he is using basic authentication, so my thought is that supplier's DB required OAuth, not basic? But since it takes very long time for them to answer, I would like to be prepared. Is it more access / credentials issue or my installation was a mess?Solved3.2KViews0likes1CommentScheduled Data Refresh Error on Postgres:The PostgreSQL source doesn't support encrypted connections

I'm having an issue around published dashboard that connect to PostgreSQL that do not work. From my Power BI desktop, I can connect to PostgreSQL and build a (direct query) viz with no issues. I can even publish and get the "success" window. However, when I go to view the published dashboard, I get an access error about credentials. I have not modified anything on the PostgreSQL/ AWS side, but I'm wondering if there is something outside of Power BI that needs to be modified (maybe ralated to SSL)? Thank you. Thank you in advancedSolved1KViews0likes1CommentPostgreSQL Live Connection Without a Gateway
Hi Everyone, We have a PostgreSQL database on a Linux server. I can easily connect to it with the required credentials from PBI Desktop but naturally(?) not able to perform live connection. My client doesn't allow me to install a gateway on a virtual machine for some reasons. Dataset on the published report returns me this error message: "Your data source can't be refreshed because the credentials are invalid." As I know, there is no way to create a live connection and scheduled refreshes from an on-premises PostgreSQL db without a gateway. Do you have any alternative brilliant idea to get a solution on this case without using a gateway? ps-1: Our dataset is quite tiny so they can replace it from PostgreSQL to anywhere, even to Excel files. ps-2: I've tried both (ODBC drivers and PBI's direct PostgreSQL connection) Thanks a lot.
