Hello, Exporting to PDF doesn't display the images contained in a table. I have a table that includes links to images as one of its data points. In the Report view, it displays these images instead of the URL text. However, when I export to PDF, the images don't appear. I just get the "image" icon you see on websites when an image fails to load. Is there a setting I need to change for this? Could this be related to the data source permissions? The date comes from a private SharePoint list, so it's possible that the image isn't being retrieved during the export process? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Solved5.5KViews2likes6CommentsFabric OneLake Data Hub blocking publish to web?
I have looked everywhere to see why the Publish to Web feature is not working. Warning: You can't create an embed code because the report is not eligible for use with Publish to web. The Admin enabled publishing and creating new embed codes. She also diabled blocking. I reviewed the list of items that could be blocking it. I can't find the reason it won't work. It seems like reports that use OneLake data are not able to publish. Is there a setting somewhere in the data warehouse that i need to update? Has anyone else had this issue?927Views0likes3CommentsAcces Folder permission

Good morning all. Spent the last few days going around in circles trying to fix an issue that seems to have appeared at work this last week or so. We noticed that some of our power BI reports deployed to the report server are now not accessible. You can't manage them in the application (Getting a "An error has occurred. Something went wrong. Please try again later." message), unable to delete. Trying to deploy and looking in the logs and it's complaining about the file not being found (). If I start on PBI RS App and try and open a report from the report server, I can navigate to the server and through the folders and see the files, but on selecting I get an error ("ERROR Unexpected Error Encountered"). I've got a new developer 'Bob' and am trying to grant him access to PBIRS to be able to save power bi reports from PBI desktop to the server. I've set roles as below, but he's unable to save from PBI desktop: The root folder (Home): BUILTIN\Administrators ---- Content Manager Sub folder 'Dev Reports': Domain\Bob --------- Browser Sub folder 'Dev Reports/Bob' Domain\Bob --------- Content Manager when he tries to save from Power BI Desktop to his dev folder he gets this error message: He can navigate to the folder in the browser and upload the file without problems but can't save there from PBI desktop. I've tried adding him to all roles (Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder) for his folder and the containing folder but this makes no difference. Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this? Thanks Leslie869Views0likes2CommentsRow Level Security works on Desktop but not on Server Portal
HI, I have recently configured our on-prem report server, created some reports and TRIED applying RLS on the same reports unsuccessfully. RLS does work when I try VIEW AS on the desktop app but when I deploy it on the portal and run the report, the values are just blank. Here is the premise: I have the following table to control access to certain data called, ACCESS CONTROL. User | Company | Store DOMAIN\user.name | MyCompany 1 | MyStore 1 DOMAIN\user.name2 | MyCompany 1 | MyStore 2 I have also setup a measure to check for the current user, User2 = USERNAME() And then I created Role on the desktop app called, PERMISSIONS. That is filtering on the ACCESS CONTROL table using the following [User] = [User2] Finally, I added two slicers, one to show Company and the other to show Store. If I try this setup on the desktop app using VIEW AS, i get my SLICERS filtered correctly. I uploaded the report on the portal and ran it only to be greeted with access errors on all visuals. I, then, added the user on the report with the same role as PERMISSIONS and when I ran the report again I can see all reports but the SLICERS are blank. So, in the end did I miss something which is why me slicer is not showing correctly. I would appreciate all input regarding this matter.Solved2.8KViews0likes8CommentsBulk Permissions to Power BI Report Server
We have a number of users who have historically created reports on PBIRS on-premise (January 2023) with SQL 2019 as the backend Database however the permissions granted to the reports were best described as 'Mixed'. We would really like to push a default set of permissions for an AD Group to all reports on the server however I am unable to locate any details on how do to this. Is there any advice Many thanks in advance444Views0likes0CommentsPower BI - App Access Issue
Hi, At our organization, we have recently stumbled on an issue where the users are prompted the following error when given access to the App. " Permission required You cannot see the content of this report because you do not have permission to the underlying dataset. Please contact the dataset owner to request access. " This is the first time we are facing an issue of this sort. We have a workspace meant for collaboration and another for viewing, which has an app published. We provide access to the app using the standard "update app" method, which we have used so far to administer access successfully. Not sure if it is a bug and when we can expect any resolution on this. Regards, P543Views0likes1CommentPermissions required to run a data refresh
We are using Power BI Desktop (Report Server) (May 2020) and Power BI Report Server (May 2020). I have created a report and the testers would like to have the ability to refresh the data in the report after adding/modifying/removing data at the source. I have created a scheduled refresh plan and to refresh the data in the report, I choose the scheduled refresh plan and then click on the "Refresh now" button. I am tring to create a role with minimal permissions to do this so I could add the testers to the role. I have created a role with "Manage individual subscriptions" and "Manage all subscriptions" tasks. However, the tester is not able to access "manage" in order to get to the "Scheduled Refresh" page. Is it possible to create a security role with permissions only to refresh the data of a specified report without having more powerful permissions?2.1KViews0likes2CommentsPower BI Report Server - Custom permissions on folder randomly reverting to inherited
Are there any known issues with putting more than 400 users in the security tab of a folder in report server that will cause it to unexpectedly revert to inherited permissions and wipe out all of the users that were manually granted access to the folder? We are having this issue were one of our admins will go to add a user to a folder and all of a sudden, the custom permissions have disappeared and it reverts to inherited permissions.1.2KViews0likes1Comment
