Image rotate when exported to pdf
If a report is rendered with an image (with an "External" source and a URL in the expression) it is OK, but when it is exported to PDF the image gets rotated -90º on the PDF file. This issue can be seen in several versions of SSRS and on the MS PowerBI Paginated Reports. I really appreciate any help you can provide. Are there any ways to automate the exporting of PDFs from a PowerBI report page from the Report Server, with user-selected filters and what not to a saved folder that doesn't require dedicated capacity and is super simple and quick? I have tried building a button within each report page itself that triggers a PowerAutomate automation, but without dedicated capacity nothing works. Thanks!Solved561Views0likes1CommentReport Server Print Current Page as PDF
When I first started using Power BI Report Server last year (Sept 2021 version), I was able to scale a report page so that when Print Current Page was selected, the report page could be automatically scaled to fit on a letter or 11x17 page size when printed as a PDF. I was requested to provide this functionality so that one-page shots from the report could be included as PDFs when sending out update notifications to report consumers. This allowed them to see a quicl snapshot of the data without having to open the report. Recently, possibly when my project switched to using Edge as it's browser (previously I beleive we used Chrome), the functionality that made this possible has changed. Now when users select the option, the image that prints as a PDF only occupies about two thirds of the available space in a letter and the rest is just gray. There does not seem to be any way to adjust for this in Power BI either in the Report Server settings or in the Desktop settings. Is known there a reason why this would suddeny change. Is it a compatibility issue with Edge, I can't find any information that addresses what is happening and am at a loss as to what could be done to fix it. It seems fairly inconguent that this option is provided as part of report server but does not work intuitively for end content consumers. My project is restricted to using Report Server and the fact that the functionality does not work from the standard of a reasonable expectation by the end-user is very frustrating and tarnishes their view of and desire to use the product. I'm oping that someone else has experienced this situation and can provide any advice. Thanks in advance.717Views0likes1CommentHow can I get the PDF export to default to landscape and narrow margins?
Hi, The Page Setup in SSRS doesn't affect the PDF, it only affects the printout. 1. The exported PDF for my report contains only a few columns of the entire width of the report. 2. The Page Setup won't Save with the report. So even if I print to a PDF with Landscape/Legal Size/narrow margins, I have to set the Page Setup parameters again the next time I open the report.Solved8.2KViews0likes2CommentsExport a SSRS report to PDF - specific font lost
Hello the community, We are now using a specific font in our SSRS reports. However, on the PBIReportServer when we extract the report to PDF : the specific font is lost and replaced by Arial. Of course, the font has been imported on the PBIReportServer server. When we extract to Word this is fine. This is really specific to PDF. Do you know what could be missing ? Thank you and best regards RobinSolved11KViews0likes9CommentsRepeat the paginated report per parameter
Hello all, I have a paginated report in which I have two parameters (one for my projetcs and another one for the year). When I pass one project as parameter to the report, it works fine. But, when I select and pass more than one project as the parameter, my tables and the subreports populate according to my selection. However, I need the the report to repeat itself per parameter. So, in the final generated PDF, when I select more than one project, first I should see my first project with all the tables and subreports filtered for this project then see the second project and so on. Any ideas if it is possible? I should mention that we are using PowerApps driven model and Dataverse as our DB. Thank you in advance for your time and help!339Views0likes0CommentsAutomated PDF Generation
Hello, We need to generate some multi-page PDF's each month and we have a Power BI Report Builder report that does what we want. We were able to automate the export using a Premium license and Power Automate. But then when we tried to loop it to do what we need it gave an error stating that PPU accounts can only perform an export once every 5 minutes. Apparently we need to change to a capacity license for $5,000 per month (!!!!!) to accomplish this task? It seems ubsurd that we would need to go from $20/mo to $5k/mo to export some reports. Does anyone know of a reasonable way to dump some reports out to PDF automatically in a performant and cost effective way using the Microsoft platform? Hey Team, My company is thinking about to use PowerBI Report Server (on prem solution) and one of the crucial point is that our users should be able to export the PowerBI reports (not paginated) to PDF without our help. Is it possible? I didnt find any description about this feature. (I know that the subscription is not availabe in this kind of report) Thanks for your help, Daniel858Views0likes1CommentServing PDFs From Report
Hello, I have searched all I could and probably I missed something somewhere. To put it simply, what I am trying to achieve is to allow the user to search for documents based on a few columns from an SQL Server (2019 if it matters), give a preview for the PDF, and allow the user to download that PDF. Long version We have an SQL Server that contains contract information and we save the PDFs as a column in a table. I want to be able to create a way for users to search for the document and be able to download it as well. I was able to do two of the three things I want to do. I was able to create the report to allow the user to filter out information in order to locate the report, I was able to use a custom visual PDFViewer to allow the user to preview the PDF, but it seems that there is no "save" function on this custom visual. I thought about doing it using base64 and an HTML custom visual, however in my attempts they either display the encoded file in what appears to be something like an iframe (using HTML Content custom visual) or the error message "Link is malformed" will be thrown (using Shielded HTML Viewer). I know what you are thinking, maybe create a web server to accept a request say with a primary key id in the URL, but the thing is with the way the DoD is going in making everything work from the cloud, they are being more strict in approving on premise servers. I want to first exhaust all options before going through the loops to get a webserver approved. Please let me know if Power BI has no way of doing this, I wouldn't mind. Like I said we can do the webserver solution, but it is my last resort.Solved1.1KViews0likes1CommentProblems when exporting to PDF - Dot instead of comma
Hi, I'm having trouble exporting a report to PDF. In my workspace I display the numbers separated by commas (Example: 5,980), however when I export to PDF the number is changed to 5.980 I have already made the changes in the regional settings of the browser and my computer, but it does not solve it Thank you2KViews0likes4Comments
