on premise
11 TopicsSubscription report
Hi, Could you clarify this point, I 'm using a report server on premise. I would like to setup a report subscription to receive a daily mail with the report. My SMTP setup is done on the server. I have all access to the report (admin right included) But the window to create the susbcription is grey out. Is it a limitation of powerbi report server ? If yes, is there a workaround ? How can I run a query (sql, powershell, or rest) to find all the data sources of my Power BI dashboards? Most the documentation is around using powershell but the soultions are all against the cloud Power BI service. I have a local/on premise Power BI server and I am trying to document the SQL server names and databases for each of the published dashboards. It would be helpful if it looped through all the dashboards in the sub folders so I don't have to manually add the indivdual dashboards.833Views0likes1CommentPower Bi Report Server in Sharepoint Online
Hello, i have a server with Power Bi Report Sever, the intention is to insert one the reports in Sharepoint Online. According to the documentation I attach (https://learn.microsoft.com/es-es/power-bi/report-server/quickstart-embed) this should be possible, but I have a couple of doubts. The first thing is if someone who has done it can confirm that this is possible and works correctly for them. On the other hand, I cannot find documentation on how to make the Report Server publicly accessible. Nor if this entails risks or any If anyone can give me some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.Solved1.6KViews0likes4CommentsUnable to create scheduled refresh
Hello everyone, we recently updated the Power BI Report Server on premise with the January 2024 version. Since then we are unable to create a scheduled refresh. When creating in the Report Server we always get the error: An error has occurred. Something went wrong. Please try again later. When we look into the log file there ist the following error: 2024-02-19 14:51:12.2626|ERROR|59|OData exception occurred: System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable. Hello, My report server is on premise mode in the january 2023 release. I tryed to publish of infographicDesigner and WordCloud examples reports downloaded from appSource web site. It's work fine on my power bi destop app but it doesn't work on my report server. Do I need to install something on my server in order to make it works or is it a boundary of the 'on premise mode'? Hello, I'm using PBI Desktop and PBI Report Server (Version Jan 2021) on Premise, but without Internet access. So I have no access to the PowerBi Service. I have configured a Direct Query to dynamic Data (data insert intervall < 1 minute) and it works fine with the Update Botten (marked as red) on the PBI RepoertServer But the report should be called with the embedded view (adding "?rs:embed=true" to the report URL) , so this bar and also the update button is not visible. Has anyone an idea, how I can "copy" the Update function with an extra button direct in the report? ...and in addition is there a posibility to configure also an autoaupdate for such a report (on premise, direct query)? I found only solutions with the PowerBI cloudservice so far. best regards Bernd1.8KViews0likes2CommentsHow to config proxy to enable Power BI Report Server for accessing cloud datasets -MS Project Online
Friends, I am preparing a dashboard for MS Project Online data which I believe a cloud datasource. Successfully completed creating the dashboard but unable to refresh the report from Power BI On-Premise Report Server since internet connection is not allowed in our Power BI Prod server. Error Message: OData: Request failed: Unable to connect to the remote server Contacted my server team - They said that they cannot configure system wide proxy due to security issues and they are asking if we can setup proxy for this specific application - Power BI Report Server? May I know the right approach to setup proxy or to connect to cloud datasources from PBI On-Prem report server. Kindly help.... 😞11KViews0likes8CommentsPower BI On Premise - Applying Row Level Security
Hi all, I have recently set up a Power BI On Premise Report Server. From there I created a report in Power BI Desktop and saved it on to the report server, this report is using Direct Query to do a simple select from one of our databases. The report works fine and I can view it both in the report manager and via a URL directly in the browser. I'm now trying to implement Row Level Security, to do this I'm using Manage Roles and setting up a DAX expression linking USERNAME() to a field in my dataset. This all works perfectly in Desktop, I can View Roles etc. and I am very happy, but now when I try to open the report on the report server or via a URL in the browser I'm just getting the following error: This visual contains restricted data To view this visual, contact the dataset owner to request access to the data behind it. From my searching around I honestly can't find much information, but the searching I've done seems to suggest that it isn't possible to do what I want to do (although it is old information so I just want to check that nothing has changed): I have also published this report to the Power BI Service, using that the Row Level Security looks good and I can switch users and see the data changed. The ideal scenario is to be able to externally access the on premise report server and have security work correctly based on USERNAME() / USERPRINCIPALNAME() (which are both returning [email protected]) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Any reason why there is no mention of PowerBI Report Server in the Power Platform 2019 release plan? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/release-plans/index Are the report server roadmaps somewhere else or is this a sign that Report Server is going to go out of support? We have an on prem Power BI server and created a Power BI template with the table relationships defined in the model to help self service users to create reports. The data source for the template is an Oracle database. When a new person (who has never opened the Power BI report or template previously), they are prompted to enter the database (DB) credentials when they tried to use the template. We thought that we could save the DB credentials to the template but it looks like it does not do that. We cannot use AD authentication as it is an Oracle data source. I'm interested in seeing how people overcome this issue. Is there a setting or configuration that we have not done correctly? or is it just that the Power BI template cannot store the DB credentials?
