Is it possible for Power BI Report Server to integrate with OKTA?
I am currently using Power BI Report Server on-premises with the May 2023 version. I try to find the way to integrate Power BI Report Server with Okta for authentication. While I've come across information about setting up OAuth and using ADFS for integration (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/mobile/mobile-oauth-ssrs), but my environment does not have ADFS and we not prefer to have it for only Powerbi reportserver. Does anyone have information on whether Power BI Report Server can be integrated with Okta?
ADFS and mobile auth
we are trying to configure ADFS and MObile connectivity to our on prem PowerBI server i have followed guides Using OAuth to connect to Power BI Report Server and SSRS - Power BI | Microsoft Docs Use Web Application Proxy and Active Directory Federated Services - Power BI Report Server - Power BI | Microsoft Docs i am unable to complete sections regarding 'Constrained Delegation Configuration' we already have ADFS and WAP servers in use for our on prem sharepoint site the WAP server is a DMZ server and not on our domain, but in a workgroup can anyone please offer advice or assistance in getting, ADFS initially working, and then using the mobile app? thanks in advanceSSO using OAuth for data sources in Report Server?
Is SSO with OAuth for data connection available in Report Server in 2020? I found this article mentioning that SSO using Kerberos to data sources was available and this was in 2017. However, I haven't seen info about SSO using OAuth for data connection yet. OAuth alternative for Power BI Report Server refresh?
Hello, My organization recently shifted to using MS Project Online. We have an on-prem Power BI Report Server environment and web portal hosting our PBI reports. I recently learned Power BI Report Server does not support OAuth authentication, which eliminates the ability to automatically refresh MS Project Online data. Has anyone out there identified a work around for this problem? I'm sure this lack of functionality might drive some toward Power BI Pro licensing but it severely hinders those who have to use on-prem solutions for data security reasons. Greetings, I have configured Power BI Server + OAuth + ADFS + WAP per https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/powerbi-docs/blob/live/powerbi-docs/consumer/mobile/mobile-oauth-ssrs.md and https://www.youtube.com/embed/okzPAI2uUek. Using Power BI mobile app on Android and iOS, I can successfully authenticate. However, attempting to render any report just "spins" and if clicking refresh, returns 404. I have seen this error reported in a few other places, including: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/PBI-with-ADFS-and-WAP-i-can-authenticate-to-Server-but-all/m-p/367034#M4177 https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/PowerBI-Mobile-App-and-Report-Server/m-p/397097 I have tried various combinations of changes to the WAP Application, the ADFS Application Group, and SPNs. When attempting to observe via Fiddler, I see the 404 returned on "GET https://FQDN/powerbi/mobile?manifest=OfflineSupport..." Not sure if that's helpful, or a red herring. I also noticed that there are some differences between the github docs and guyinacube's youtube video re ExternalURL and BackEndServerURL. Some examples include "/reports/" and some do not. PBI Server + ADFS +OAuth able to login, but not able to open reports
Hi Guys, I`ve configured PBI Report Server with ADFS and WAP which gets data from another server with Analisys services. I have 2 publishing rules on WAP one for Web Browser and second one for OAuth. From Web Browser - i`m able to login and open reports which ulilizez cubes on Analysis services without additional authentication (so its integrated pass-through). From Mobile App - i`m able to login, but can not open same reports. Maybe someone experienced same issue ? thanks, Oleksiy
