5 TopicsAuthentication type oauth2 missing for Report Server Schedule Refresh
Dear all, I would like to know, what is necessary to do on a Report Server side configuration in order to support oauth2 authentication type for (data source) Scheduled refresh. I am able to take PBI Desktop and use OneDrive / SharePoint online list or library like a source, I am able to refresh them manually or upload such a report to Report Server, however I am not able to configure Scheduled refresh for them (for any O365/M365 data source). There is simply no choice in the menu to use e-mail format of the credentials. Just Anonymous, Basic & Windows type credentials and none of this works. I also tried to use Web type connection with no luck, I tried to connect OneDrive folder like a network drive and use web type / excel type connection and again, with no luck. Thank you for any hint, tip or helpSolved2.8KViews0likes1CommentSSO using OAuth for data sources in Report Server?
Is SSO with OAuth for data connection available in Report Server in 2020? I found this article mentioning that SSO using Kerberos to data sources was available and this was in 2017. However, I haven't seen info about SSO using OAuth for data connection yet. We're able to do OAuth SSO for data connection in Power BI Desktop but not Report Server.2.4KViews0likes5CommentsProblem with OAuth2 when refreshing data - Connection with Excel on my Sharepoint online
I have an excel file in the documents of a SharePoint site. I connected my excel in my Power BI file in the desktop version with the web connector and then I published it on Power BI online. When I try to refresh data the OAuth2 credentials fail and I have to introduce again my user and pass in the credential section. Any other type of autentication is not supported I think. Is there any solution that allows me to refresh data on my Power BI online without errors? I am trying to move reports from a SSRS installation to Power BI. I am able to get the reports moved over to the Power BI server; however, the Data Sources are not completely migrating over. This is acceptable if the Data Sources can be updated through the Api. There a small number of Reports to move and all of the reports will use a even smaller handful of Shared DataSources. During the migration the Data Source name is kept but the credential information in it needs to be updated. The hope is through V2 Api I can sign in and update these Data Sources with the correct credentials. I do notice that during my migration that the name of the Shared Data Source is retained in the migration. At the end of the day, I have to hand this migration tool off to put the reports into production. This may not be the best place for this question, but I had to start somewhere.945Views1like0CommentsOauth2 authentication
